Carson and I Went To Utah

Carson and I went to Utah last week to visit my sister, Rachel and her family. While we were there we also got to see my parents and my sister-in-law, Lisa, and her kids. Carson and I left on a Sunday morning and came back the next Sunday afternoon. It was Carson's first airplane ride and he did awesome. It did help out that he was able to have his own seat on the way up there! Carson had a blast seeing all those kids run around. They loved him and always wanted to be around him and holding him. They would always ask when he was waking up from his nap(that is what he was doing the majority of the time we were there). Owen even shared his food with him. Owen is 2 and right before we were leaving for the airport he ran and got me and said "I gave Carson my muffin, he loves it!" And I look over and Carson is on his tummy chewing on an oatmeal muffin with crumbs coming out of his mouth. He doesn't eat food like that yet, but we were all pleasantly surprised that was the only thing that they tried to give him for a whole week. It could have been much worse.
It was a really fun week to get to see my sister, I miss having her live here so much. We didn't do a ton of things, but the weather was awesome (rainy and chilly) pretty much the whole time I was there. My parents were in town for the first few days and we all hung out at home, went out to eat, went to Luke's pre-k graduation program, and watched the Dancing With The Stars Finale. After my parents left Rachel, Luke, Owen, Carson and I all went and ran some errands (Target, K-Mart, Sam's Club, the library) and went to some doctors appointments. Throughout the next few days we got in a couple of movies (Baby Mama and Iron Man) and made a few different quick shopping trips to Old Navy and the Mall. We ate out a couple of times and on Friday night they got a babysitter and Brent, Rachel, Carson and I went to the movies and to a restaurant called GoodWood. It was a barbecue place and it was so delicious!

It was a really fun week for Carson and me. I got to see my family, and he got to play with his cousins. Overall, he was a very happy little guy and slept really well. Halfway through the week I put him in the Pack N' Play in the office at night and he slept really well. That was the first night since he was born that I have not been in the same bedroom with him. I was only about 20 feet away but it was still a step. One day he even slept in until 9! The only down side to his sleeping is getting him back on his normal schedule here. In Utah it was still really light out at 8:45! That was so hard to get used to. He kept taking his big naps at like 5:30 or 6 and would wake up after he should have already been in bed. Travis wasn't able to come with us so we both missed him so much. One day Travis and I got on Skype (phone over a webcam) and he was talking to Carson. For whatever reason, Carson couldn't figure it out. He heard Travis talking and would kind of start smiling and looking around but just couldn't find him anywhere. When Travis picked us up from the airport he got Carson out of his carseat and he just couldn't stop smiling and giggling. He was so excited to see his Dad and so was I.
Refer to my sisters blog to see what she was up to while Carson and I were visiting.
**Above are some pictures from the trip. I didn't take half as many as I should have.

Gotta love Utah! I'm jealous, but we are headed there this weekend! I'm glad Carson was so good for you on the plane. I have a story or two about screaming babies on airplanes! Glad you're back but I'm sorry about Taco Bell - that stinks!

Those pictures of Carson with his cousins are so cute! I love the little one's mohawk! How cute! I'm glad you had a good time. By the way, what is up with you calling every post "The one where..." ??? That's pretty random!
