Travis woke up when Carson woke up at 6:45. He fed him a bottle and put him back in bed. I got to sleep in until 9 when Carson woke up wanting to play. I just decided recently (seriously, what took me so long) that one weekend day I should get up with Carson and Travis sleep in and the other, I sleep in and Travis gets up with Carson. It is a genius idea. Especially since no matter how early Carson goes to bed I can’t seem to walk into the bedroom until at least 11. I always have “things to do” i.e. blogging and checking my email and facebook.
Carson got his first taste of butternut squash and he liked it. The first bite was a little iffy and I nearly vomited from the horrendous smell but he seemed to do alright. Travis and I got ready for church early so we could eat some lunch and watch the beginning of the Suns game before we left. We got to church before the sacrament (that is really good for us) and had fun with our kids in Primary. We left church in a hurry because we didn’t want to hear anyone in the hall talking about the game. It has happened to us before where people get texts on their phones with the scores and they will just say it out loud and we innocently hear what happens. And that makes watching it not as fun, especially if they lose. Well, we got home and they won! YAY! We went to Travis’ parents’ house for a birthday dinner for Travis, and two of his brothers, Tyson and Troy. Troy couldn’t make it but we got to hang out with Tyson, Trisha, Brian, Travis’ Mom and Dad and Carson got to watch his cousins, Kollin and Logan play and run circles around him. Every time that we go over to Travis’ parents’ house, Travis’ brother Tyson always wants to hold Carson. It is so cute!
It is always fun to have a little break from the spit up and you can just tell that Tyson loves to hold the little guy. I know Carson loves it too. He got a little bit scared being outside with no parents in sight but he will get better… I think… I hope! After we left Travis’ parents house we went straight to a Desert Ridge Reunion (our old single’s ward). It was really good to see people that we haven’t seen in a little while or don’t see very often. I am pretty sure that this time about 80% of the women there were pregnant. It was fun. I love talking about babies, pregnancy, who has what doctor, what hospital they will go to, how many kids, gender, name ideas and on and on. It is so much fun! We had a good time there and got home an hour after Carson’s bed time. He went straight to bed after Goodnight Moon and family prayer. And then, of course, we didn’t go to bed until late!
Monday
Carson turned six months old and he had a 6 month check-up. He woke up happy... went to bed aggro!
Tuesday
My friend Brittany came over early to babysit for me. I went to go get some dental x-rays to try to get some free dental work done. It turns out all of my cavities aren't ones that would be good for the test. Don't worry, give me another year and I am sure that pop will work its way through!
So Brittany babysat and Carson slept the whole time (it was only like 30 minutes) but he woke up and was excited to see her here! He likes her a lot. That night Travis and I watched the Suns choke and get the first round boot out of the playoffs. That was sad.
Wednesday
Trisha came over and we went to lunch. Travis was going to stay home and watch Carson until Trisha said she wanted Oregano's and Travis came along also. Carson fell asleep in the car and woke up right as we were done eating... perfect timing! Then Travis and I had a Primary Activity at 3:15. It was like a little carnival for the kids. Our class was so good and I think they had a really good time! I carried Carson around in the Baby Bjorn and he got so tired. And since he won't just fall asleep in my arms, I went out to the car and got his car seat. I put him in it outside and by the time I walked back in the church he was asleep. He slept through the rest of the carnival even the balloon popping stage and had a pretty good rest of the evening. He got cranky right around bed time. **Carson thinks it is funny when you are getting him dressed and leave the shirt on his head like this. I love how clueless he is about things and just how sweet and funny he is!
Thursday
It's sad but I don't even remember anything about Thursday. It was the first day of May and that is all I know. Travis worked on his resume and looked for internships for the summer. I am pretty sure Carson boycotted his naps that day. Every single one was a fight. I watched The Office and 30 Rock but decided against Grey's Anatomy. I don't really miss that show so I will probably just quit watching it for good!
Friday morning I woke up excited to go hang out with some girls and their kids. Carson woke up around 6:00 and I didn't go back to sleep when he did. I was in the mood to clean. So I cleaned up a few things, showered and got ready and made a yummy lemon cake all before 8:30. That is very unlike me. I ended up having to babysit for two different kids, both named Logan. Kinda wierd! So I didn't get to make it to the party. Carson and I went to watch Travis play basketball and got some Taco Bell for lunch. Taco Bell brought back their Bacon Club Chalupas and I was so happy!! Later on Travis went to a Diamonback's game with Brian. They played the Mets and los
t. Since Brian and Travis were having fun, Trisha and I decided to venture to the movies. I have not been to a movie at 6:30 on a Friday night probably since last May. It was fun, we saw Made of Honor. It was ok but we both had a ton of fun because our kids were so good. The only peep I heard out of Carson was snoring about half an hour into the movie. Logan (Trisha's boy) woke up right as we walked in the theater and just sat on her lap the whole time. He did take a liking to my Cherry Coke so who knows how Friday night went for her!! Travis and Brian got home from the game and played XBOX until who knows when. I went to bed at about 10:30.

I woke up
at 6:30 and stayed awake again... two days in a row! I babysat for a friend from about 9 to 1 and then I met Jackie, Allie, Britany and Kim at the dollar theater to see 27 dresses. The sound in the movie kept going out towards the end. It went out right at the most important times when they were saying I love you to each other and stuff like that! I had already seen it so no big deal. We got movie vouchers because of it... $2 not wasted! Then we went to Bahama Bucks and enjoyed some shaved ice. We talked and I had a really good time! When I got home I realized that Bahama Bucks was my lunch so I made Travis get up from his nap so we could go get something to eat. There was no time to make dinner I was too hungry. We went to Chili's where Carson slept the entire time (see the pattern) and then went by Travis' parents house afterwards. We picked up an air mattress for my Dad to sleep on Sunday and Monday night! I went to bed kind of early and Travis stayed up doing homework.

Hey! I think it sounds like a pretty productive week! It always seems like that to me when I take the time to write it down. :) I seriously can't remember things from one day to the next, so blogging is a great way to keep track of it all. I mean, getting up & cooking, being showered, etc. before 8:30? That's amazing!
P.S. I LOVE your highchair. What kind is it? I will have to look for a brand that reclines like that! We never got one for Polly, we just had a chair that clipped onto the bar. Anyway, I think it looks awesome & I have a hard time nursing so depending on how long it lasts (6 weeks with Polly) I might just get that highchair right away!
Your weeks sound a little something like mine... why don't we hang out more often, seriously?? Our little girls afternoon was sure fun, we need to do it more often.
P.S. I love the new look to your blog! Will you teach me how to do it? I am clueless!!!
