9 Months

To Carson:
Today you woke up the happiest little boy. Like usual, you were standing up in your crib waiting for us to get up and when we finally did you let out a huge squeal of excitement! You kept me busy all morning following me around while I was making breakfast. You went to the doctor today for your 9 month check-up and you really are getting so big! You weigh 21.4 lbs (53rd percentile) and were 30 1/2 inches long (97th percentile). While we were at the doctor you got a shot and were really good. You also loved the picture of the grasshopper that was on the wall and wouldn't take your eyes off of it the entire visit. We can definitely tell that you have grown in length because now when you pull yourself up you can reach so many things. You love to grab anything within your sight that you shouldn't be playing with. Everytime you hear the bathroom door open you drop whatever it is you are doing to try to get in! It is your favorite "off limits" place. We read many books, over and over, and you took an early nap today. You were a little bit scared because your nap was in the pack n' play. But I sang to you and told you Good Night Moon again and you went right to sleep. You attempted to eat peaches, cheerios, and noodles as finger foods for dinner but sadly most of them ended up anywhere but your mouth. You have been a good eater again lately, eating all of your vegetables... even your green beans and peas! Tonight when I gave you a bath you wanted to sit up and you didn't even try crawling around. It was also good to see that you didn't poop in there again! I let you watch your Baby Einstein video after your bath and you used to just sit there--now you go up to the entertainment center and stand so your face is about 2 inches from the tv. I had to put you in your exersaucer so you would stay put. You are such a busy little boy. I was washing dishes tonight and you figured out how to crawl under the chair to get under the table. I looked over and you were sitting under there and all of the chairs were scooted in. I was kind of hoping you wouldn't remember that trick but a few minutes later you moved a chair over to squeeze through and get under the table. Apparently, you like to be under there. Your favorite time to play is early in the morning and before bedtime. You played and laughed and went right to sleep at 8. You are such an awesome little boy, we love you.
