Carson at 15 months!

Well the big boy is 15 months old and cuter than ever! He is really trying to talk lately, but everything sounds the exact same. The other day he was repeating a lot of names, Logan, Trisha, Staci, Grandpa, Grandma and they pretty much all sounded like "na-na". Some other words that he likes to repeat are chicken, pizza, water, mama, dada, more, milk, Jesus, monkey, outside, snack and again. And they all pretty much sound like "na-na" too. Just about a week ago they all sounded like "da-da" so I think there is some improvement. Carson is really starting to know what we talk about when we say any of these words. He can go retrieve most of the things we ask him to from his room, and he can make a monkey, cow and pig noise without us having to do it first. You just ask him what a monkey says and he says "ah-ah-ah-ah" back to you. It is so stinking cute. He also knows where his toes, his feet, his shoes, his socks (all things having to do with outside) and his head are. He folds his arms when we ask him to. Sometimes he does it after the prayer, but it is still adorable. **He gets bright red cheeks when hot! Travis says that is just how "their" skin is.**

He is borderline obsessed with books. Sometimes when he doesn't want to go to bed at night, he tries to get out of our hands and if we put him down, he goes right over and grabs a book. He then takes it to the corner of his room where Travis or I usually sit. So he has a little reading corner now. I went in his room the other day and he was sitting there reading his book. That is where I sit when I go in there because there is empty wall space to lean on and there is usually nothing in the way right in front of his crib. It cracks me up how now he just goes there to read.

He has started trying to sit on anything that is about his level. And he turns around and backs up to sit down. He does that to sit on my lap or the basketball, or pillows, or the bouncy seat that we had out for a friend's baby the other night. When I put his little brother in it, he might try to sit on him. I better watch that. We are looking for one of those Little Tykes picnic tables for him to learn to sit and play on. And he will probably read books on it, because that is what he does most.

He got a sit n' spin from a neighbor that was moving last week and he loves it. As soon as he wakes up in the morning he runs over there and presses the button so it will play the music. He likes to stand up on it and usually falls. But when I help him sit and spin on it he just has a huge grin on his face.

Carson has started running everywhere. And it is hilarious because I am pretty sure he was faster when he was walking. He lifts his legs and his arms so much that it is like he runs in place. I really need a video of it because when he doesn't do it anymore, I will be so sad. He is the cutest thing with a huge smile and wide open eyes.

**In this picture his legs are blurry, that is his run!**

Carson is getting more used to seeing other people and not just staring. He is playing and talking to other kids that he passes at church and he LOVES the ladies in Relief Society. He goes up to them close enough to be noticed and then when they smile or say hi, he runs back to me. He really likes to play that game with his Grandma Grover. He wants her so badly to talk to him and try to get him, but when she does, he runs away.

He doesn't like it when things are on the couch or chair. When he wakes up from naps, he goes into the living room and throws all of the pillows on the floor and anything else that is on there. Today he did that and I picked them back up when he wasn't looking and as soon as he noticed he did it all again. He even did it to Travis' backpack and I agree with him on that one... it does not belong on the chair.

There are so many fun things about Carson. He is so cute and I love him so much!

**He still really likes the same Baby Einstein video. I let him watch it in his room, maybe once a day (it is only 20 minutes long). It is in the closet, so he won't play with it and this is how close he insists on sitting.**

**Oh yeah, and for journaling purposes, Carson got a haircut today. Only his second official haircut (not one from mom) because his hair is slowly growing in, and he bawled the entire time. But now he looks so grown up and handsome. No more mullet. In his defense he did party like a rockstar last night with mom and dad and stayed up until 11:30. To get his normal amount of sleep that would have put him waking up at 1:30 in the afternoon. But he woke up at 9:15 and the haircut was at 10. So he was still a trooper!**

He is seriously in a fin stage! I love Bruce being a baby & don't want him to grow up, but reading about Carson & other boys his age makes me excited. I love the quirky things they do like being obsessed with nothing on the couch & always reading in the same place. Things like that will be so fun to remember, you will be glad you wrote it all down. I need to do that more often!
