To Porter:
You are the cutest, chubbiest, happiest, sleepiest little boy. We love you so much. You are growing up so fast. Right now you are laying on the floor watching basketball with Dad. You have been laying there, kicking your feet and flailing your arms for the last 45 minutes without making a peep.
**These pictures show what it looks like when you move your arms and legs all over
You are so good anytime we go anywhere. Today at church you slept almost the entire time, but when you were awake you just wanted us to hold you so that you could look around the room at everyone. You were just so happy. Oh and when we got home you had pooped all the way up your back. We didn't know it because you didn't even cry, just smiled at me when I started changing your clothes. Probably because you knew the surprise I was about to get.
You are on a schedule and you seem to like it. You pretty much eat every 3 1/2 hours starting at 7 or 8 am and one time in the afternoon you go about 4 hours and take a long nap with Carson. I almost always have to wake you up to feed you. Then at night you try to go to bed right after you eat at about 6 or 7. But we wake you up again to eat at about 9 or 9:30 because we miss your smiling face so much. That gives us a little extra time to hang out with you (and helps you sleep until morning). You have been waking up at about 5:30 am and so you eat a little snack and go right back to bed until I wake you up for the day. We are working on extending that about 1 or 2 hours(6:30 or 7:30 would be nice). I know you can do it. You are now sharing a room with your brother and you seem to really like it. Sometimes we hear you guys in there talking back and forth. You start crying a little bit, then Carson starts yelling, then you cry a little more, then Carson laughs. Then you guys both go to sleep. It makes us laugh. You fall asleep on your own in your bed for naps and bedtime. But you still let me rock you to sleep every now and then. Thank you for that. I like to see you fall asleep in my arms and then just hold you because you are so peaceful and cute. And you smile a lot in your sleep, which just melts my heart.
You like to go outside with the family and hang out. But when we go outside we have to keep the sun off of you so you don't get burnt.

Porter this is a new song that I hear on the radio a lot. I had heard it before we had you but then I heard it right when we brought you home. So now it reminds me of that time -- bringing you home from the hospital and those first couple of days. It is about a Dad and his little girl. But it makes me think of you and your brother and how quickly you two are growing up. I can't believe it was 2 whole months ago that we were in the hospital with you. This song makes me sad and happy at the same time.
He didnt have to wake up
He'd been up all nite
Lie'n there in bed and listening
To his newborn baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
He splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says
It's gonna be OK
It won't be like this for long
One day we'll look back laughin'
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
So baby, just hold on
It won't be like this for long
Four years later 'bout four thirty
She's crawling in their bed
And when he drops her off at preschool
She's clinging to his leg
The teacher peels her off of him
He says what can I do
She says now don't you worry
This will only last a week or two
It won't be like this for long
One day soon you'll drop her off
And she won't even know you're gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It won't be like this for long
Someday soon she'll be a teenager
And at times he'll think she hates him
Then he'll walk her down the aisle
And raise her veil
But right now she's up and cry'n
And the truth is that he don't mind
As he kisses her goodnight
And she says her prayers
He lays down there beside her
'Till her eyes are finally closed
And just watch'n her it breaks his heart
Cause he already knows
It won't be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
Yeah this phase is gonna fly by, so
He's tryin' to hold on
It wont be like this for long
It wont be like this for long
Porter, you are so loved. We love spending time with you. We thank our Heavenly Father for sending you to our family. You just make it that much better!
Love,
Mom

You are such a sweet Mom and both you and Travis are so sweet and loving with your boys. We love you and miss you all.
That is so sweet!
What a great schedule! Last night I woke up every hour to feed Kaleigh! I hope her sleep and feeding schedule gets better. I would love her to adopt Porter's schedule.
What a little sweetie!
