Boys

A little while ago Carson got invited to Brynlie's (a girl that we know from church) birthday party. It was a carnival themed party and we all had a blast. There was a pinata, a cake walk (with prizes that weren't food), a big parachute where you throw all of the balls, pizza and fun! I hope Brynlie had as much fun as we did. Carson picked the purple balloon because that is his favorite color to say. He was very willing to put on the clown glasses but hated the nose.

He loved his new "hat" from the party and I finally had to throw it away yesterday because it was all mangled and torn apart. He found it in the trash can a couple of times, so I finally had to shove it down to the bottom so he wouldn't see it.

Last Tuesday, August 11th, Porter tried rice cereal for the first time. I mixed it with a white grape juice/water mix.

He was so excited to be sitting up high in "Carson's chair" but was NOT a fan of the food. We gave it to him again two days later and he was plugged up until yesterday when he had a complete blowout--All over both arms, head all the way up his back to his neck and all over the blanket he was on.

Carson and Porter LOVE to watch videos. They watch Baby Mozart together. Carson gets kind of mad when Porter gets the bouncy seat and he tries to pull him out. I had to put the bumbo right next to him so Carson could feel special too.

When we lay out a blanket and put Porter on the floor to play, Carson is right behind ready to sit on the blanket and talk to "PoPo". This is pretty sweet considering he usually tries to lay on top of him.

Last week we had a cloudy/rainy day and I swear it didn't reach 100. It felt so good at the park. Plus all of the kids are back in school so we had the whole place to ourselves. We ate lunch and let Carson play. Porter was just happy to get out of his car seat. He doesn't have much hair but you can see it sticking up in this picture. I love it!

Porter just woke up. He is so happy when he wakes up. He wasn't quite ready for the light.

Again, Carson loves all of Porter's toys. This sat in his room for the last year and he maybe touched it twice. Now that he sees Porter sitting in it, he wants in all of the time. At least his dad tought him how to get out of it, so now we don't have to get him out every 5 seconds. When Porter is in it, he tries to pull him out of there too.

Carson loves to sing songs and afterwards he always puts his hands up (kind of like a shrug) and yells "weeee!" I think it is from when I sing him Popcorn Popping and I always say wee at the end. I don't know why, that isn't part of the song is it?

These are some of Carson's bath toys. He loves them. He loves to point and tell me what each color is. He learned his colors from the book Freight Train and from these toys. One day he just started saying all of the colors. Now he also likes his orange shirt, his orange car, and his green ball.

Last Wednesday, Carson finally figured out how to climb out of his crib. It sucks! I was hoping for a good 5 years in there. I don't think it would have been so soon if he was still in his old crib. It was much higher off of the ground and maybe a little bit more intimidating. His new crib sits right on the ground (only high enough to get all of his toys stuck under there and my arm doesn't fit to get them out). He has been climbing all over everything lately so I was kind of surprised that it took him so long, especially since he is so tall. He was down for a nap and then all of the sudden I didn't hear the white noise machine anymore. Then I heard it again. Then I didn't hear it. I got up and saw the light on in his room. He had climbed out, turned on the light, and had just started playing. He kept doing it that day over and over. So we put him in the pack n play and he couldn't get out of there. He tries to do it still and I just gently push his legs back down and into his crib. The kid will probably never sleep if he isn't confined to his crib... especially since he shares a room with PoPo.

That picture of Porter where he seems to be gagging on his food is you, when you were a baby and later with almost all foods. It was awful, emily. Did Carson have fun at the party. Those are cute pics of him.

your boys look more and more similar. Yeah rice cereal! If you pump or use a bottle, you can put it in there every once in awhile too.

I love Carson's newfound language! and Popo is looking so grown up and adorable with those huge cheeks! I like your pictures at the park, is that with your new lens? I think it's cute how close brothers are at such a young age. AndI love the clown picture! Looks like the party was a lot of fun!

So many cute pictures! I am glad you guys came to the party and that Carson had fun. We borrowed my mom's bubble machine for the kids his age and it broke on the way to the church so I felt bad we didn't have that but he still jumped right in and had fun!
I love the "poop" picture! That is hilarious! Dayton finally had his first one like that the other day on our drive home from Utah... at the one place where there was no changing table... I changed it in the car! Talk about a mess! The outfit just went straight in the garbage! haha
Hope all is going good!
