Porter is 7 Months Old!

Porter is just so stinking happy all of the time, it makes me happy. He is always watching us walk by and just smiling as big as can be. The second we open his bedroom door after he wakes up (you can't see him, because it is so dark) you can hear squeals of excitement.

This is Wrigley. Porter's bear. He got Wrigley as a present from his Aunt and Uncle and cousins. When Carson was 2 months old he got Cubby Bear for Christmas from his cousin Megan. And now that they sent Porter, Wrigley--Carson is confused and very possesive of both bears. Porter really only gets to talk and play with Wrigley when Carson is sleeping or outside. But he sure does love him already, after only a week with him.

This is one way that Porter shows his love. It really sucks when he has long fingernails.

Porter still spends most of the day on his tummy(asleep or awake). When his head starts to get heavy he just rests it for a couple of minutes. He hasn't quite figured out crawling yet, but he is oh so close. He can get pretty much any thing in the room that he wants by rolling over or turning in circles or scooting backwards. He gets up on his hands and knees, rocks back and forth and then shoots forward and usually face plants. It never hurts him, he smiles really big and gets back up and tries again. Yesterday he sat up on his own. He can't sit for very long without tipping over, but he was on his tummy and I looked over and he was sitting, but still pretty tilted. And he is trying to climb up on things, like the couch or our legs if we are sitting by him, his exersaucer or any kid that is by him.

Porter loves to play with toys. He just stares and gets big smiles on his face. Then when they make noises he smiles bigger.

He is still getting stuck in random places. And he always tries to have the tv in his view... even if it isn't on.

Porter takes formula usually 4 times a day. And eats solid food 2 times a day. He usually eats vegetables for both meals and sometimes cereal or a fruit. He isn't really in love with anything we have given him, but he still eats it all. I think he is just more interested in everything else going on.

Porter seems like he is a pretty big boy. I bought him a pair of jeans that are 12-18 months that I thought would be huge, and they fit him pretty well already (hopefully they make it all "winter"). He likes it when anyone gives him attention. He likes to stand up on our lap, be outside, watch Carson, watch tv, eat, chew on his hands, and he hates pacifiers. Well sometimes he will chew on them, but has never really sucked on them. I love the way he stares at you until you talk to him and then he gets a big grin on his face. He still has skin problems and lately they seem to be getting worse and spreading to other areas. And he tries to scratch his arms on the carpet or the high chair... it is sad. He has also been acting like a cat lately, he rubs his head and shoulders up on anything that is close to him, like his car seat, or the couch or a coffee table. I think he looks just like a cat, but maybe he is trying to scratch?

**This little sequence of pictures makes me laugh. This was Porter this morning trying to sit up. I was trying to get him dressed and he wouldn't stop moving. He seemed happy with his shirt like this so I let him stay like that and grabbed my camera.
