Porter -- 20 months

Porter is 20 months old!  He is getting so big.  He talks ALL the time, mostly saying "no" and "I do it."  He wants to do everything on his own.  If I even touch his bowl of cereal he gets mad.  But he can't really feed himself.  He gets a spoonful, is so excited that he forgets what to do with it and usually tosses the food on the floor.  And he is soooo messy.

He now wants to get in his carseat on his own.  It usually takes a little while and he grunts and makes noises the whole time.  It totally cracks me up. 

Porter is so busy/active/hyper.  He is always on the go and climbing on things, and throwing things, and making messes and getting huges bumps and bruises on his forehead.  But he is also incredibly sweet and is always giving us big hugs and kisses, especially Hudson.  He gives Hudson hugs and kisses pretty much everytime he sees him. 

Porter also loves to say hi and bye.  In the morning he always says "hi Mommy" and waves his little fingers.  And his voice is pretty high-pitched.  I just love it.  He will push his trucks around and stop right in front of my face and wave and say "bye Mommy" and then push the truck into the other room.  Then come back 2 seconds later and do the same thing.

Porter loves to read books.  We got some new bookshelves for the kids... well, my friend Brittney made them for us.  The kids love them.  Porter loves to wake up in the morning and go right over and pick out some books to read.  Usually Thomas the Train.  He loves trains so much. And he really loves Choo Choo Soul on Playhouse Disney.  We don't have cable anymore, so we bring it up on the computer and if he hears it, he will run up the stairs so fast.  And he loves to yell "all aboard." 

Porter wants to do everything that Carson does.  He likes it if Carson likes it. 

He loves to go on walks around the block, which is like 8 houses.  So it doesn't take forever. 

 He likes to get stuffed animals and cuddle with them and carry them around.  Porter loves to run and jump and scoot cars and trucks off of things so they fall and make a crashing noise.  He loves to walk in front of the camera, really close and say cheese. 

I love his little smile when he looks to the side.  He gets all shy and flirty and it gets me every time!

His favorite foods are chicken nuggets, pizza, taquitos, french fries, veggie straws, hot dogs, fettucini alfredo, ramen noodles, carrots, yogurt, applesauce, broccoli, goldfish, cheerios, honey bunches of oats and oatmeal.  And by favorite foods, I mean that is all he eats.

Porter is 34 3/4 inches tall (90th percentile), 25 lbs. 11 oz (25th-50th percentile) and his head is 46.8 (25th percentile).  He is pretty skinny and doesn't seem so tall to me.  But maybe it is because he is always next to Carson who is tall and looks like a 5 year old.

 

Happy 20 months, Porter!  Keep on growing and learning. We all love you so much and are so happy that you are in our family.  You make everyday an adventure.  You wear us out and we love you for it!
