Hudson -- 5 months

Well, guess who is 5 months old?  Hudson is growing so fast.  I look at pictures of him from 2 months ago and I can't believe it.  His thighs are a little bit chunky now, his hair is growing back and his cheeks got pudgier!  He is starting to grab on to everything.  He loves to grab faces if you get close to him.  He lays on the floor, rolls around and plays with toys most of the time that he is awake.  He is getting pretty good at putting his pacifier back in his mouth, sort of.  And when he is in his exersaucer he can grab the things that he wants to chew on.  He likes to sit up and stand up, with help.  If we put him in the swing he rarely rests his head anymore, he tries to sit up in it.  So we started putting his toys on there, and they keep him entertained.  But he still almost falls out the side when he gets too excited.  He is always buckled in of course, because I am a freak about things like that.
Hudson was pretty constipated for the last two months or so.  Just this week it looks like that is getting under control.  Which is good because he would start to get cranky if he hadn't pooped in over a week.  Now he is so happy again.
For the last week and half, Hudson has been waking up 3 times a night.  I am not sure what is going on, but he wakes up at like 1130 or 12, again at 3 or 4 and then again at like 6.  He just eats and goes right back to bed.  He hasn't done that since he was like 2 weeks old.  I was ok with once a night, especially since I am nursing.  With the other boys, once they slept through the night my milk decreased so quickly and I quit breastfeeding soon after.  So this time, I was kind of liking the once a night and no stress.  But 3 times?!  Ouch, I am exhausted.
Anyway, Hudson is a great eater too.  So far he has tried rice cereal, oatmeal (the flakes and the real stuff), sweet potatoes, pears, prunes, peaches, butternut squash, and pear juice in a bottle (mixed with water).  I don't usually give my kids juice but the doctor said to do a juice bottle twice a day to try to get him regulated.  He hates it and I quit trying.  He just screams.  I even thought if he is hungry enough he will eat it... yeah right.  And it was just too sad.

I just adore this kid.  I love to kiss his cheeks and hear him squeal.  When his daddy tickles him he can't hold still and just giggles.  He is so fun.  In the middle of the night, when I might get a little annoyed that he is awake again, I look at him and he smiles all big.  And I have to smile back.  It is too contagious.  It makes it all worth it.

Of course, a family picture with somebody's eyes closed or not looking.  But it's cute of Hudson!  Us at the Temple lights last week.

I love how he falls asleep with his hand by his head.  In his crib both hands are kind of cupping his ears.  So stinking cute!

His first time eating prunes.

He is becoming so aware.  When you walk in the room his eyes follow you all around and he waits for you to talk to him.  Then he gives a full body smile.  He watches the other kids and if they get close to him he gets so excited.  They always say "hi", "goodnight" and "good morning" to him.  I know he cannot wait to be able to play with them and run around with them.

He still rolls all over the place but mostly likes to be on his tummy.  He likes to sleep on his tummy and I still flip him over while he is sleeping.  Travis tells me I am crazy.

And I really need more pictures of him for this month.  This is it and it is going to be his first Christmas!  I better get my camera out way more often!

We all love you so much Hudson! You look so much like your brother's and sometimes act like they did.  But you are so unique too.  You have your own attitude, especially when we lay you down.  You want to be vertical and preferrably in our arms.  You are cuddly and sweet.  You talk non-stop.  You wake me up in the mornings with your coo's.  I get to spend a lot of time with you and I am enjoying every second.  I sure hope you are too!
Love you, buddy!

Don't know what happened but I commented at 2:53 am since I had just finished working on grades. I was still awake at 4 and just woke up at 6. I'll die later this morning. Anyway, what cute pics of Hudson and his chubby cheeks that I adore. Especially smeared with prunes (dried plums). Happy 5 months big boy!

Hudson is five months already? Where did the time go?!? I absolutely love him! How could you not? Griffin started waking up several times a night at 5 months and I let it go on for about 6 weeks. Finally I took him to the Dr. and they gave me medicine for acid reflux and he slept all night again! It was awesome! :). Just FYI!
Miss you guys! Happy Holidays!!!
