Porter -- 21 months

Porter is a month older (as of the 3rd).  We are really starting to see his little personality come out.  We know more of HIS likes and dislikes, not just what he does because Carson does it.  Although anything that Carson does/has/says is a huge "like" for Porter.
His favorite foods are still chicken nuggets, pizza, french fries and taquitos.  But he also now loves veggie straws (which are pretty much chips) and goldfish and carrots and broccoli.
His favorite toys are trains.  He loves to play with them, see them on tv, make the noises, wear his shirt with a train on it, ride on them (not real ones).
He still takes one nap a day but that has been pretty hit or miss lately.  Sometimes he just goes in his bed and cries and other times we just miss it when we are gone.  But he usually goes to bed at about 630 or 7 and sleeps until about 8.  So on the days that he doesn't get his nap, I still feel like he gets a good amount of sleep.
**Update:  4 hours after writing this post, PoPo climbed out of his crib for the first time!  I heard him calling my name, and realized he was really close to the door.  I went in there and he had torn the room apart!  Everything was out of his closet and out from under Hudson's crib.  The humidifier was thrown into its seperate pieces, water everywhere and the filter chewed on and pieces spit out.  His noise machine (white noise/night light/clock) was unplugged and across the room.  And when I opened the door he said, "hi, Mommy!"
Porter is the sweetest little boy.  He says hi to everyone every morning, he says "hi" and "bye" any time he is entering or leaving a room, he gives us all hugs and kisses all day long.  My favorite is when we are changing one of the other boys' diapers and he comes up behind us and just gives a big huge hug.  Then he bats his eyes at you and tilts his head.  He is so so sweet and such a little flirt.
He pronounces Carson's name "Sasson" and gets Hudson's pretty close.  He mixes up "Mommy" and "Daddy" all the time.
He shows all of his bottom teeth when he smiles.  This picture isn't good (except for Travis and Porter) but it shows Porter's typical smile.

Now that Hudson is eating and wearing bibs, Porter and Carson like to sometimes.  Porter followed me around with this bib in his hand and kept saying "help".  He was so happy when I put it on him.

Porter is such a menace.  He is so busy getting into things and making messes.  On Thanksgiving he quickly found the water under the fruit tree.  He came to the door of the backyard covered in mud.  The only extra shirt I had was Carson's sweatshirt.

Porter and Carson used to fight over Big Truck.  Then Trisha let us "borrow" (we've had it for months) Black Truck.  So he is Porter's and he loves him.  When we are going to get in the car, Porter turns around and runs and gets Black Truck.  Last week he (Black Truck) was upstairs, it seriously took Porter a good 10 minutes to go get him and bring him downstairs to the car.  And then Black Truck doesn't even really fit in the car, but these boys insist on taking them everywhere!

His train shirt that he LOVES!

He also makes huge messes when he eats.  Immediately dumps his plate and plays with it.  Then starts throwing his food down.

He can use his fine motor skills for many things, but eating isn't one of them.  He picks things up with his whole fist and shoves it all in his mouth...  So messy!

Porter has been waking up a lot at night lately.  I think maybe he is having night terrors.  But he also wakes up when someone else (Hudson) is crying.  He stands up in his crib and screams!  He HATES loud noises.  Here he is watching cartoons on his daddy's lap because I was using the magic bullet to make Hudson's food.  He just freezes and starts crying and screaming.  It is really sad.

Learning about Christmas lights, camels, and the Three Wise Men from Travis.

I love it when they are good listeners and hold each others' hand.  Like in this picture.  Other times, like last week leaving Burger King, they both ran away into the parking lot giggling.  I was NOT laughing.  I was so mad.  Thankfully no cars were coming.

This is seriously these 3 everywhere we go.  They are going to have to make room for Hudson in just a couple of months!

Oh and I don't have a picture but Porter has gone to nursery for the last 2 weeks.  I knew he would love it if he just gave it a chance.  Now Travis and I can quietly enjoy the rest of church... for a couple of more months anyway until Hudson is mobile!

We all love you so much, Porter.  You are one busy little dude.  You are getting closer and closer to being 2 and I can't believe how quickly it has gone.  I don't want you to grow up too quickly but am so thankful that you are growing and all the things that you are learning every day.

Love, Mommy

He is SO cute. I love his flirty looks and smiles and even his messy eating. Travis, he looks so much like you. Porter, we miss you and love you so much. Hugs and kisses from Grandma and Grandpa Garrett.

By the way, I would not say anything about not liking or not wanting to go to nursery if I were you. I do believe Dad went to nursery with you the entire time you were there. And the nursery leader asked me if you were 'slow' because you were so quiet and never said anything. Nice, huh? She was nice. I could not believe it when she said that. I should have bitten her arm or something. That would have been 'really' nice of me.
