Back to the Humidity

We went to Illinois for a fun little family vacation.  I was going to go because one of my good friends, Ashley was getting married.  Travis was able to get the days off of work and so we all went.  We had such a wonderful time.  The boys were really good and were quite the party animals, not going to bed before 11 most of the nights.
We enjoyed seeing old friends and family that we hardly get to see.  Grandma Margie and Grandpa Norm let us stay at (and take over) their house.  The boys loved all of the yard space.  And they kept saying "look at all those green trees!"  They got to spend a lot of time with their cousins.  Porter had never even met them until this trip.  It didn't take them long to warm up.
On the way home, Travis and I were talking about how nice and relaxing it really was (probably a little more for me than him, since he took care of the boys more) and how we definitely need to make it a priority to do it more often.  Hopefully, it won't be 2 1/2 more years before we see everyone again!
We also got to eat ridiculous amounts of good food.  Tally for 5 1/2 days:  Los Potrillos 4 times, Pagliai's 2 times, Monical's once and McHugh's once.  I am now going through massive withdrawals and probably gained an easy 10 lbs.

Having a really early, 6am plane ride and going to bed late, and not taking naps really got to Carson.  Here he is yawning, but wouldn't stop playing.  The last day he fell asleep while we were out to lunch and had a 103+ temp.  He slept the rest of the afternoon and only woke up to eat and play for a little while before bed and our trip home the next morning.

We hardly ever have pictures taken of just us.

This one came out perfectly to see Hudson's face.  He even did pretty well most of the trip considering he had way less sleep than usual.

He quickly found all of the balls to play with.  I love this picture of him holding the basketball that is his size.

I love him, he is so handsome.

Porter was so happy to "drive" Grandpa's lawn mower!

He likes this little bike but was too big to ride it, so he pulled it all around the yard, every day.

Josh and Mindy's (my brother and sister-in-law) house still had plenty of toys for little kids too.  This huge bucket of hot wheels was their favorite along with the wooden train tracks.  They were in heaven.  Travis and I also spent some time playing Xbox.  He played games with Cameron and I played Dance Central with Megan and Cameron.  We seriously need to get Kinect just for that!

Hudson really liked Megan's American Girl Wheelchair.

I love both Porter and Wyatt's faces in this picture.

And Porter's face again in this one.  He and Carson both idolized Wyatt.  He was so good with them.

We celebrated Hudson's first birthday again so he could have his cousins there.

He didn't want to get his hands messy.

And before we knew it, both Carson and Porter were on the counter eating off of the cake, just like Hudson.

My poor mom wanted some cake because this is her favorite kind--but not after those 3 got to it.  It was all slimy.

Wyatt, Taylor, Hudson, Megan and Cameron.

Then all the kids.  Hudson has on clothes this time.

And I am in love with these last pictures.  Those boys were so attached to Wyatt after just 2 days of playing.   The next day when we were over there (Wyatt was out of town for the rest of our trip) Carson was jumping on the trampoline and asked me if Wyatt wanted to come play with him.  It was both adorable and sad.  The first day Carson jumped on the trampoline with Wyatt for hours and Wyatt even put the sprinkler under it too.  True to fashion we have no/hardly any pictures of the adults.

We all miss everyone so much.  And thanks for everything.

Thanks for coming. We know it wasn't easy, but it was so fun having you here. I'm finally putting the toys away. We love you and miss you all!
