Hudson is 18 Months!

It's official, we have another big boy on our hands. Today was Hudson's first day in nursery.  So of course, I had to take some pictures.  He has on the same outfit that Porter wore on his first day of nursery.  I am so lame, but I can't help myself with things like that.  He obviously felt like a big boy-he demanded his own chair during Sacrament Meeting and then got in the car and climbed right into the back seat next to Carson and sat down (no child restraint). Yep, 18 months, going on 10.

His pants are too short.

He made it through most of nursery.  Was fine going in initially but then cried during music time.  I took him back in for snacks, he seemed fine and then I heard him crying by the door a little while later.  So I took him out.  When I was holding him in the hall, he kept looking up at me (like he was making sure it was me holding him).  And he was so cuddly!  I can't help it, that is adorable.

Hudson is talking non-stop all day long.  Mostly saying and doing the things that Carson and Porter say and do. He says so many words, and sentences. He hardly just says one word phrases, they are usually 3 or 4 words.  And the majority of the time it starts with "I need that ___!" or "There is a ___!"  He loves animals and animal sounds.  And he also knows what a car and train say.  He does get confused and when I ask him what a specific animal says he just answers "moo" to all of them.  I think horses and birds are his favorite.  He chases the birds at the park and when we went to the zoo last week he was giddy and ran over to the pink flamingos.
Hudson loves to read books and when he brings one to us, he expects to go sit on the couch to read it.  It goes something like this: "I want to read this book." (hands us the book, if we don't take it, tantrum starts) then runs away and says "couch."  Some of his favorite books right now are How Do Dinosaurs Say I love You, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom, Good Night Moon, Freight Train and the little ABC and 123 books with items all over each page for him to name.

Hudson is just barely starting to eat some more foods, like pizza, taquitos and chicken nuggets (which are staples around here).  He still loves yogurt, grapes, string cheese, peanut butter and jelly or honey, hot dogs, life cereal (which he asks for by name, every morning after his banana), honey bunches of oats (he calls them "boats" just like the other 2 used to do), and any kind of cracker or candy.  Does NOT like macaroni and cheese, or any noodles, vegetables, or meat for the most part.  He will eat whatever is on our plate.  So we are going to have to start being a lot sneakier to get him some good foods.  He always asks for a fork when you put something on his tray (even dry cereal) and he always asks for water, even if he wants milk.  When he is done he tells us "out. mom." or "I wanna go play."

In this picture you can see him crossing his first two fingers on his right hand.  He is constantly doing that and has been for a while now.  I don't know if I should be concerned or not?

He likes to say "cheese."

Hudson loves to sit at the table.  He says "my chair" and climbs onto his chair.  Even though his head barely goes over the table.

He loves it when we play horsie.

And he LOVES being around his brothers.

This is the old picture of when he hit his toe.  It finally just fell off on Thursday morning.  The toenail underneath looks pretty normal.

Hudson has all but his 2-year molars, 16 teeth total.  They have been in for quite a few months now.  He was in the 25% for weight and 50-75% for height.  I have a feeling those numbers are off because it was his 15 month check-up about 2 weeks before he turned 18 months.
Hudson loves to sing songs.  Some that he can sort of sing a long to and his favorites: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Away in a Manger, Itsy Bitsy Spider, ABCs,  and Teach Me to Walk In the Light.
Hudson is so happy and fun and sweet.  He gives me hugs and kisses (and then slaps me 2 seconds later). He has an attitude and gets very upset and his feelings get hurt when he can't always do what he wants.  When Carson tells him not to do something or touch a toy.  Hudson comes and finds me and is sobbing-truly offended that his brother told him no.
I always ask Hudson if he is a boy or a girl.  He looks at me and says "Baby."  I respond in a silly way and say, "A baby, no!" and he giggles.  It is our little game.
He has charmed his way into our lives.  We love him.  We adore him.   He is my baby.

He is some sort of crazy genius! It is hard to think that all these babies are entering nursery. Fun times!

You always have the best pictures. Such a cute kid. Now that I finally blogged about Christmas I'll have to do an 18 month post on Levi (now that he's 19 months). Thanks for the reminder! :)
