It seems that it is about time to blog a little more. And today seems like the perfect day for it. Carson started Kindergarten. It is such a weird feeling. I am excited for him and scared for him and can't believe he is old enough for this and at the same time, feel that he is way older than that. I think he will love it, he already loved school and was ready to be a "big boy." And true to form, I took a ton of pictures.
First, we got haircuts yesterday in preparation for school.
We met all of the teachers (except Hudson's preschool teacher later in the month) and saw the classrooms.
(sorry that I got everyone's eyes half-closed)
Then today before school, 8.7.13. 5 years old.
First time on the big bus. I saw him through the window ask if they had seat belts. He is used to the preschool bus. He sat by Spencer and Keelie, friends from Primary at church. We are missing other people at the bus stop that moved (Chase's) and some that changed schools (Busby's), sad. It seemed like it was all bigger kids and then these little two.
I cried on the short walk back home. My oldest little boy, now in school forever. What a milestone! Tear.

I decided to meet the bus at the school to make sure he got to his classroom. They have huge fences all around the school and the buses drop off on the opposite side of his class, so I thought he might get confused the first day. (And to Travis, who thinks I am crazy, his teacher recommended it.) I told him ahead of time that he might see me, but I was going just in case he needed some help but to try to find it on his own. He saw me, waved and kept walking with his friend.
Then he found his door and had a little time to go to the playground.
Finally going into class.
We will see how it all went when he gets home!
Porter got to start preschool on the same day that Carson started Kindergarten. Porter is going to a neighborhood preschool 3 days a week and MPS preschool (that he did last year) 2 days a week. The only difference is that he changed teachers and now has the same teacher that Carson had last year. Only because the days worked out better for us.
Here he is after lunch ready to go. 4 years old.
Hudson, still in jammies, getting in some pictures.
Just Hudson and Mommy home for 2 1/2 hours somedays and almost 4 on the other days. This will be an adjustment for everyone!
Porter waving goodbye at Mrs. McClure's door!
Now to finally take my shower and clean up this messy house a little bit before they get home. Goodbye summer and no schedule!

I'm really glad Spencer has a bus buddy especially with all those older kids on the bus. I miss Marian at the bus stop too.
Big stuff!!
Jeff thought I was dumb to meet Joshua at the Kindergarten playground to make sure he knew where to go. I told him that it's just what you do. :)
