Over Labor Day weekend we decided to head to San Diego. Travis had that Friday off of work, so we left first thing that morning. Friday by the time we got there, we checked into our hotel and took the kids to play at the park. Then we went to the beach at sunset in our clothes, thinking the kids wouldn't get in the water. Wrong. The got sandy and soaked in about 3 seconds.
Saturday we went to the beach all day. We got there around 9 or 9:30 and stayed until the kids were sick of being wet, at about 6.
If you look closely, Hudson is crying because he got mad at the frisbee, or Travis... who knows?
It took Hudson most of the day to get used to the sand and water. He also got bit or stung about 3 minutes after we got there. I think that was the only meltdown.
I love little toes, even sandy ones.
Aunt Tiffany brought her paddle board. Porter LOVED it.
Trying to show our bellies.

Hugs goodbye to Aunt Tiffany. Hudson takes a little to warm up but then he is attached. When we left the beach, he kept asking questions... "If Tiffany going to be there? What kind of car does Tiffany have? Is she still at the beach?"
And he finally played in it!
Hudson's pants kept falling down. This was Travis' fix. Porter is in the background having issues with his swim trunks rubbing on his legs. This wasn't too long before it was time to go home. They were all crying about their shorts hurting them.
The next day we went to The Mormon Battalion.
And of course, we needed a picture of the beautiful temple.
On the way home we stopped in Gila Bend for bathroom breaks and ended up being there for almost a full hour. Annoying since we were so close to home. Porter and Hudson wanted their pictures taken by this hideous, rusty, graffiti-ed dinosaur. Hopefully there aren't any bad words in there. I do know that I stayed in the car and there were roaches all over the gravel underneath. I was so freaked out. I hate those things.
A fun trip. The end.
