Utah for Fall Break!

Well, we did it!  We survived a drive to Utah without Daddy!  I have been wanting to go for years, since my sister moved up there (airplanes are annoying, especially with 3 kids-5 and under, and pregnant).  My sister's birthday was the Friday that started Fall Break.  I was going to surprise her and go up for a quick weekend, just me.  But then I had a genius idea and decided to take the kids and drive.  Thanks to our friend it was a doable drive.  We left in the wee hours of the morning, still dark.  I drove our van, with 5 kids (again, all 5 and under) and my friend, Susie.  We dropped them off right outside St. George and finished the rest of the trip on our own.  Before St. George, we got sidetracked and miss our turn to Las Vegas and ended up in California, a couple hours out of the way.  So we had to turn around when we realized it.  That part wasn't so great.  Then we had a detour and Hudson puked all over.  Then I hit horrible traffic in Provo and finally made it to my sister's house about 9pm.  The plan was 4 or 5.  Oops.
The first day the weather was cold (freezing) until the afternoon. And then the rest of the week was perfect, lovely, fall weather.  Until the last day and it was cold and rainy the whole time.  Total bummer since that was the day we were going to hit up the pumpkin patch. Oh well, we did an indoor playcenter instead and the kids had a blast.
We just hung out the whole time, didn't do much.  It was really fun and it was so awesome to see cousins get to be cousins.  They never see each other and got along great!

This was the coldest day, didn't stop Hudson from wearing basketball shorts and Max from wearing swim trunks.

Playing basketball at the neighbors.

They were sleeping so peacefully, I had to take a picture.  Playing with cousins all day is HARD.

The beautiful Bountiful Temple.

Having fun at Temple Square.  Porter, Max, Carson, Hudson, Lucy.

Hudson and Lucy playing together.

Owen and Hudson became buddies.

Owen and Eli with my boys after they got a movie and popcorn on our last night!

Carson is crying in this picture.  He became pretty attached to this orca.

Of course the whale seemed to make it into all the pictures.

We had so much fun and miss them all so much.  Thanks to my sister and brother-in-law for letting us all "drop by" for a week!  It was a fantastic trip that the boys won't forget.

You were so sweet to do this for Rachel's birthday. I know it wasn't easy but I know you both had a good time. Love you both so much.
