Life

Carson was obsessed with his shark hat one day.  He had it on when he woke up from his "nap" and kept it on all afternoon.  He is an interesting kid.

Hudson hardly eats anything, but he sure does like crackers of all kinds.   One reason he could feel right at home in nursery (1 more month! but who's counting?).

Tonight after dinner I took Hudson's shirt off because it was full of peanut butter.  I was making dinner (for Travis and me) while the kids watched Little Einsteins.  Hudson kept pulling on his pants.  Then, we were reading in the scriptures about Bethlehem and I looked up to see this.  I pulled them up (after taking pictures, of course) and 5 seconds later he had pushed them down again.  So weird.  I put him in one piece pj's after that.

We got our Christmas tree this year.  A lot earlier than last year.  After we got it inside and put the lights on, we thought there were a lot of needles on the ground.  I watered it and it didn't drink any water and was getting a little dry.  So on Monday we went to Home Depot and exchanged it for a fresher one.  This second one is way greener and smells great and is drinking water like a fish (I know they don't drink the water).
Anyway, Carson has been talking about going to get a Christmas tree for a while because of course, he remembers doing it last year(amazing memory).  He also remembered the tree having a red jingle bell,  because when we were tree shopping he kept talking about going into the store to get him a red jingle bell.  When I got out the ornaments, I saw the one from last year and realized what he was talking about.  I didn't even remember that.
He was also a great helper with the trees and Christmas lights and the boys have been pretty good at leaving the tree alone.  I keep having to remind Hudson because he gets really close and says "I need that ball, Mom."  We don't really have any ornaments, mostly just the balls and 3 little sock monkeys from Grandma Margie--which the kids love.  It doesn't matter, though, the lights on a fresh tree is my favorite part.  I know prelit trees are nice and easy, but there is just something about putting strands of lights around a Christmas tree and getting sap on your hands and the needles poking your fingers that makes me so happy.  And don't get me started on the smell.  It cannot be reproduced in a candle.
Also, it doesn't seem right that while we were Christmas tree shopping, Travis was wearing shorts and a tshirt!  Carson has on the same outfit as last year and that is random.
