Fruit Loop Necklaces

Yesterday we attempted to make Fruit Loop Necklaces.  Carson did pretty good.  Porter immediately started eating the cereal and apparently doesn't like anything with the word "Fruit".  He kept putting them in his mouth getting them all soggy and then spitting them out everywhere.  Then he took his bowl of Fruit Loops and dumped them out all over the floor.

Once the necklaces were completed, Carson ate all of the leftover Fruit Loops.  He was sharing with Monkey.  He would pull out one at a time and ask Monkey if he wanted a green fruit loop.  He would put it up to Monkey's mouth and then eat it.  At least he was being nice and sharing.

More Homemade

Travis' sister just found out she is having a baby girl this summer! To say she is excited is a HUGE understatement... but we won't get into that. I babysat her kids while she went to the ultrasound this morning and (since I knew it was a girl) I made these booties to give to her when she told me they found out it was a girl. **Sidenote: If you find out you are having a girl anytime soon, this is what you will be receiving from me. I love making these things, they are so little and cute!

And I just thought I would put a picture of my couch pillows. We got this couch for free and it is nice and comfy. The backs of the big pillows have a funky design that I am not too fond of and the throw pillows had the same one. So I made some pillow slip covers to add a little color. Travis thinks they look like I puked on a pillow. I knew he would hate them.

Just a little color brightens up or living room!
And another little craft...
For Christmas, my siblings and I (and our families) got our parents a framed picture of the Salt Lake City Temple, where they got married. It was vintage looking with an old-looking font that had their names and the date. I decided I wanted the same kind of thing to put up in our living room.
Here is an example from Deseret Book of the Bountiful Temple.
http://http//deseretbook.com/item/5037208/Bountiful_Temple_23_x_23_Personalized_
It is a different size but this one is $219.98! Holy Cow!!

Here is my version and cost:
Picture - FREE, drove down and took it myself
Making a distressed/vintage feel - FREE, photoshop
Printing a 16 x 20 - $5.99 at Costco
Framing - $14.68 16 x 20 frame at Michael's (%55 off)
Total = $20.67 plus a sense of accomplishment

And here it is framed and displayed in our home.

I would like it to be a little bit lighter and with a different font... but it works. I love looking at it.
