Carson's Chalk

Last Saturday Carson was playing outside and came in asking us if we wanted to go play basketball on the court he made.  I think he did a good job.  The drawings make me giggle.  He drew a girl's court and a boy's court.  He told me I could play only on the girl's one while he and Daddy played on the boy's.

This is the boy's court.  We only have one hoop, so he drew the other one.  He did pretty good with center court and the key.  He also added light poles, because why would he not?  He loves them so much.

He labeled the courts with a boy and a girl.  The only way we knew the difference is because he told us.  Although, he said that was me and I think I look pregnant.  Carson draws girls with hair sticking out, boys usually don't have any.

Playing with Daddy -- bike helmet and two different shoes. 110 degrees.

I love it when he draws things the way he sees them.  So many times, he and Porter ask me to draw it and say they can't.  When he actually does it, he does a pretty good job.  Love this kid.

Nice Weather

It has been gorgeous outside lately.  The past couple of days we have gone outside to play, ride bikes, and get the mail right before lunch.  It helps the boys to work up an appetite and then take nice, LONG, naps.  Well, Porter and Hudson, Carson doesn't nap anymore.  Tear.

Peek-A-Boo!  Summer is already here, we have skipped spring :(

Filthy

Porter is the dirtiest kid.  He went out back to play this morning and after about 5 minutes was covered.  These pictures don't do it justice.  If he was smiling  you would see all the dirt and chalk in his teeth.

He was clean when he went outside and then I had to give him a bath before his nap.  It is so gross, but he doesn't care and is just so happy!

Hudson is Happy

Hudson loves to pull on the grass.  Porter HATED grass.  He would start crying the second he touched it.  Hudson was very happy outside with us the other night.  He just played and watched his brothers.
I was laying on the ground, taking these pictures and Travis was standing up, talking to him.  So that is who he is looking at.

I love his scrunched up face in this picture.  That means he is extra happy and trying to smile bigger!

You can see his two little teeth!  What a stinkin' cutie!

Water colors

Carson and Porter were painting with water colors this morning.  Porter kept eating them and Carson apparently loves the color brown.  I know they are washable but I sure hope they are non-toxic.  Good times.

Meet School Bus and Big Truck

This is School Bus.

This is Big Truck.

They are treated like the 6th and 7th members of our family. (I am counting the baby as#5).  They go almost everywhere with us.  And when they don't go, they were invited by a little boy who's mom and dad said "no."  And usually some sort of tantrum or fit follows.
We don't say their names with "the" or "your" in front of them.  They are just "School Bus" and "Big Truck". Period.  They have personalities and they both go to timeout. --We have discovered that instead of putting Carson in timeout, we put his toys that are being naughty, or not listening in timeout-- Then the next time he plays with them, he helps them be nicer or to listen.  He LOVES them.  And probably because Carson loves them, Porter loves them!
These two get pushed everywhere all day.  They go all over inside, everywhere in the car, to other people's backyards, to the park, in shopping carts, they take naps and go to bed at bedtime--in Carson's bed.  The other night when I went in to check on the boys, Carson was saying "oh, so funny, Big Truck."  I am not quite sure what that was all about.  Then they always get a nice "good morning" from Carson first thing.  And Big Truck has never been to church, but School Bus has.
It gets a little annoying.  But we love them!

Playing

Carson got to go outside and play in the water today. He had so much fun and was so upset to come inside... again.

He fell on his table earlier today, and you can kind of see the mark he got on his eye.

You can see it a little bit here, too. I love those chubby cheeks that just fall when he is asleep!

A Trip To The Mall

Last week, Trisha and I wanted to go to the mall to sign our kids up for the Kids Club. Why? I dont' know. We got there and it was sooo crowded. I don't know if it is normally like that or if it was extra crowded because of spring break. So I stayed by the strollers and let Trisha and her little boy, Logan go sing and dance. Logan was terrified by the big gopher singing The Wheels on the Bus (and still talks about how scary it was). So we decided to let the kids play at the little playground. Well, for some reason Carson was too traumatized and just sat by me the entire time, while I was feeding Porter. And when Trisha tried to take him with her, he started crying. She said that she kept making him eat cheerios so he wouldn't cry. Did I mention that I don't have a double stroller? And I didn't want to carry Porter in the pack because there were so many people there and I am a freak about germs and babies. So Trisha was nice enough to push both baby carriers in her double stroller and let Logan walk and Carson in his stroller. Occasionally, Logan would run off, so we put him in the stroller with Carson.

We were laughing so hard, neither of these boys even cared. They were on top of each other and totally minding their own business. It was funny and cute.

ggggguh

Well, Carson now weighs over 15 pounds (what a porker) and is over 26 inches long! He is about 4 1/2 months old and doing new stuff every single day. A couple of weeks ago he woke up one morning and was making the "G" sound in his crib for about an hour. He does a long gurgle sound ending it with a "guh." He loves to make that sound and loves it when people make the sound, too! We got him a new activity center and he absolutely loves it! He tries his best to push the buttons that make noises but the only thing with enough weight or force is his head. The buttons say animals in both English and Spanish... there you go mom! He will know more Spanish than me soon! Up until now his favorite toys have been his hands and burp cloths. He was sick a few weeks ago with RSV but the doctor said that he is doing really well now. We continue to give him some breathing treatments but we have found that they make him a little hyper. He has decided that his new bedtime is 10 or 11 instead of 8 or 9 like it has been for the past two months!!
