123,baby, you and me

(If you didn't sing that title like the Jackson 5 then you did it wrong)
Tonight Carson, Travis and I were all sitting on the couch watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Carson was sharing my lasagna, even though he had just had his own dinner. He was so happy. He just kept talking about who knows what and giving me kisses. Then he was playing with the remote and Porter's bottle (which means that Travis had fed Porter because he ALWAYS leaves the bottles laying around). Carson kept saying something and then when I finally realized what he was saying, I played along. He was counting. So after I heard him say "one, two," I repeated "two" and then he followed with the next number up to ten. He can count to ten, well kind of eleven... I think. So I tried to video tape it, but the next time he left out 5. But I just went with it. I am not quite sure where he picked it up. Sometimes, I say "1-2-3-jump" to him. But we don't sit around all day counting. Maybe he was inspired by the guy on Millionaire who almost won the million dollars, but totally choked at the end. Did anyone else see that??
On Friday evening I was working out and Carson was awake so I just let him follow me around. And he was doing the lunges with me. Then everytime I went in our bedroom to do the pull-ups/chin-ups he would follow me. (Sidenote: I can't actually do a pull-up or chin-up, but I use the pull-up bar and a band and sit on the floor and it still burns, so there.) So he kept sitting next to me and I would count to 12 every time. And it cracked me up how into working out with me he was. So that combined with Elmo, I guess he is learning things. Obviously, he doesn't know what they mean, but it is still stinkin' cute. Man, that kid is a little sponge lately. When I go in his room to play, he just points to things and says what they are and waits for me to repeat them and then moves on. He still has his own little way of saying things, so maybe we are the only ones that can understand.
Anyway, here is a video of him counting from 1 to 11, minus 5!

Carsons new favorite food is broccoli. He says it like baa-bo-key. Every day when he wakes up from his nap he asks for it as soon as I walk in his room. He loves it. I just get the frozen bags and put a bunch in the microwave in a bowl with some water and a paper towel over it for 1 minute. He eats it just like that, no salt, no butter, no cheese... he got more than just his looks from his dad, I guess. And he loves it HOT. Almost too hot to chew.
