19 Months -- Carson

**Enjoying the mini carousel at the mall**

**Carson was sick a little while ago and one morning after a bath he got mad when we took his towels off. So after he got dressed he wanted to be all wrapped up in his towels. We figure maybe because Porter always gets wrapped up?? He was walking around like this and it reminds me of the sand people from Star Wars.**

**Cute little profile**

**Not wanting to move while watching me take his picture--he was watching Baby MacDonald**

**This time riding the bull on the mini carousel at the mall. He loves this shirt, he always finds it and gets it out of the dirty clothes hamper and tries to put it on himself.**

-----------------------------------------------------

Carson is 19 months old today! Holy crap! I think that the 18th month was the longest month ever! Carson is growing up so fast. I was just looking at pictures from his birthday and he looks so chubby and didn't have any hair. Now he is so tall and much skinnier and he gets haircuts every couple of weeks with his dad. He needs one pretty badly right now.

Carson is a very cute big brother in his own little way. He loves Porter and he tries to say his name, but it sounds nothing like it. If he sees something of Porter's out (blanket, diaper, bottle) he tries to go find him and give it to him. He tries to pick him up, which is scary. And he talks to him at naptime and bedtime from across the little bedroom... one crib to another.

We took Carson's pacifier away 3 weeks ago and he had one bad naptime without it. Then that night he wanted it a little bit. After that he was fine -- no more waiting by the bathroom door. About a week ago he saw Porter's pacifier on the couch and gave it to Dad, didn't even try to put it in his mouth first. Now that he doesn't have that he is much happier overall and has been talking so much. I can't even keep track of all of the words he is trying to say. The newest one is his own name, Carson Grover. He is so cute when he tries to say it. We have a book of pictures of Carson and his dad and he loves, loves, loves that book. On the second page it says, by Carson Grover and has a picture of him. He tries to repeat his name when he sees that page. He is trying to repeat everything we say to him. He understands the phrase, "Carson, can you say...?"

Besides growing like a weed, I feel like he has a different shoe size every month, he is the same. Just happy and a total boy. He has an obsession with climbing on things (hasn't even attempted the crib yet, thank goodness). And last friday night started saying cookie and then cracking himself up. I have no clue where he got it, he doesn't watch sesame street (it sounds like the way cookie monster says it) and he doesn't eat cookies. But he just starts laughing like a big boy and all of his little teeth show.
He loves his hat, because Dad wears a hat, too. So when we are walking out, we ask him if he wants his hat and he will run and get it and duck his head for you to put it on him. Carson always wants to be outside. He goes outside for about 3 minutes and his cheeks are bright red. We can usually convince him to come inside when we offer water and chicken.

Nursery is getting better, a couple of weeks ago he cried, then ate and then almost fell asleep under that table with a buddy (who did fall asleep). I would have been pretty surprised if he fell asleep. But I am glad that he calmed down. Then last week I think he was doing ok until he saw us in the halls. Cue meltdown. But then when we got home last week, Travis took off his shoes and his shirt and Carson got mad and picked up his Dad's shirt and handed it to Travis for Travis to put it back on. Then a couple of minutes later he showed up in the kitchen with his dads church shoe. And then a couple of minutes later, moms. I think he wanted to go back. He loves to be there. Mostly, to run arond in the halls, but whatever.
He finally tried peanut butter and LOVES it. He scarfs down pb&j at least once a day. He just keeps getting better at using a big boy cup. But he has had a couple of incidents with ice. He loves the ice, to play and to stick in his mouth, but when it is too big he just tries to swallow it. So now we try to keep him away from our cups so he won't put huge pieces of ice in his mouth.
I can't even explain how cute, fun and sweet Carson is. He does things in his own way and we love it. He lights up our lives. Porter absolutely adores him. We feel so incredibly blessed that we can wake up every day to him screaming at us!

He is so cute and we love him so much too. We love that he wears his cap backwards, like his dad.
