Carson is Twenty Months Old!

That 2 year mark is getting closer and closer, where has it all gone? This last month Carson has learned so much. He is talking more and says new words every day. He now knows how to open all of the doors and can reach the front door lock and knows how to unlock it. We had to install a lock at the very top. He loves to go outside. I think that is the foundation of his shoe obsession. If he has his shoes on then he can go outside, right? He doesn't just love to put on his shoes (or his dad's) but he also loves to bring us our shoes and try to put them on us, so we can take him outside. As soon as anyone gets their shoes on he runs to the front door and starts trying to open it.

He can also reach all of the light switches now, so he spends a lot of time turning the lights on and off. He is getting much more comfortable with other people (but still only the ones that he knows well) and most of the time is just so happy. He loves to wake Porter up in the morning before he leaves his bedroom and he loves to give us all kisses. Carson is a tv junkie. He has one Elmo video (Elmo has two hands) that he loves. And of course he can say "Elmo". He loves Baby Newton which is helping teach him his colors and shapes. He can say circle, rectangle, and triangle. And he gets a huge smile on his face when he sees the Baby Einstein puppet at the beginning of that one (the lion). And he also loves the Old MacDonald Baby Einstein, and at the end of that one it has a quiz. It shows you the picture and you are supposed to say what it is. He knows all of those words. The funniest is when he says Rooster, "Oosterster."

He loves to read books and he has a new favorite that is NOT Dr. Suess. It is Freight Train. It is a library book and I don't want him to tear it up which he sometimes does (I had to pay $18 for the last one) so we keep it on top of the tv. Carson will go up to the tv and stand and stair up at it until you read it to him. And then he doesn't want to stop reading it, he wants it to be read to him over and over. And whenever his Dad is reading it he says "Freight Train, WoooWooo!" really loudly. So now Carson will yell "ooooh, ooooh" while you read the book to him.

He likes to play in his room quietly. When we go in to see if he is ok, he is usally sitting in the middle of all of his toys playing with one thing quietly. At night when he goes to bed he gets all of the clothes out of the hamper and throws them. Sometimes later at night when we go in to check on the boys, his crib is covered with random dirty clothes. He is so funny. He loves to yell and screech and run around. He says, "Set, GOOOOO!" and runs down the hall back and forth. Sometimes he reminds us to say prayer before we eat by folding his arms. But sometimes he is too impatient to actually say/listen to the prayer and says "Amen" before we ever start.
He has been through one week of swimming lessons (3 lessons) and the first two days cried the entire time. The third day he didn't even cry and for about half of the lesson he sat on the step and waited for his turn. He also went off of the diving board (with a little help from Mom).
Carson loves to eat and is a little bit of a mooch. Even if he has just eaten, he will come over and try to get some bites of whatever we have. He just sees a pizza box and gets all excited and starts saying "teeta" over and over. And he likes a whole slice better than having us cut it up for him. He still has portion control issues and will try to shove the whole thing in his mouth at once. He loves taking a bath and brushing his teeth. He will still get really mad if we give him a bath and leave the bathroom to get him dressed and he hasn't brushed his teeth. He cries and won't sit still until you go back in and give him his tooth brush.

He loves to try to act just like his dad. When Dad is working out, Carson tries to do the same thing. And if the workout is anything on the yoga mat (yoga or abs or anything) Carson thinks that it is time to wrestle. And just jumps and attacks his dad. He adores his dad. I don't know if that word even expresses it fully. He wants to be just like him and do whatever it is that he is doing. I love it. Dad is the one that he sits with at church and who is really patient with him.

Oh and I am not sure how many teeth little kids are supposed to have, but he has a whole mouth full!
Carson is so much fun and every single day we are amazed at the things that he is learning. He cracks us up. We love him.
