Twenty-One Months and A LOT of Pictures

Carson is 21 months old. He is big for his age, I think, because people keep asking me if he is potty trained. Do other people potty train there kids that early, because I was planning on waiting until he is like 3? There is absolutely no way he would understand that. He is finally learning to talk, one word at a time. It seems like every day he says new words. He has been saying his version of "Logan" for a while now (which was pretty much "na na") and just last week he started getting closer and saying "no nee". Wait, is that closer? But then on saturday night when he was saying "no nee," I said "Logan" back to him and then he replied with "shisha" which means Trisha and is Logan's mom. He was so excited and now any time he hears the word friend he says Logan. It is so cute.

Right now, Carson loves to swim, and he does a pretty decent job since swim lessons. He does have issues with jumping in. He wants to do that the whole time and he doesn't understand that he needs to jump OUT also. Luckily, Travis just grabs him mid-jump and pulls him in. He has landed on his butt on the side of the pool a couple of times and just doesn't get what happened.

He has pneumonia. I think it was from swimming. One day he came inside and had a runny nose and his cough started. Then it just kept getting worse, so I took him to the doctor and she said she could tell right away that he had fluid in his lungs. So sad. His cough sounds like it hurts. He is on medicine and goes back on Friday. We hope the little guy gets better soon.

Carson loves Porter and all of his brother's toys. He especially likes the bouncy seat and the Bumbo. He thinks they are his chairs to watch tv in. When Porter is in them, Carson gets a little upset. He likes to spend time with Porter. When Porter is laying around on the floor playing, Carson grabs his feet or legs, usually, and starts saying, "hi" over and over. He does it in this funny little voice and only does it with Porter. I love it! Porter just looks at him and smiles, just happy to have him around.

Carson loves giving kisses. And I love those slobbery, kisses that he gives. It is kind of funny that when we say can we have a kiss, he wants to give us a kiss on our mouth. For some reason, Travis and I never kissed him on his mouth. Whenever we gave him kisses for bed and all those other times (especially as a newborn) we kissed his cheeks. And we do that with Porter now. I don't know why, but we both do. Anyway, he insists on kissing our mouth. So I wonder where he learned that. Probably Baby Einstein, I swear those videos teach him everything.

Another thing that he LOVES to do is jump. He jumps all day. He likes to do a standing jump and land on his feet. (His vertical is like 2 inches--but we think he does pretty good for how little he is). And he loves to jump on the couch and in his crib, and obviously into the pool. When he is on the couch he jumps up high and kicks his legs out so he can land on his butt.

HE LOVES NURSERY NOW!! He hasn't been crying and now he opens the door and runs in. And he is learning so much in there. When we come home from church he always does something new. It is so good for him to be learning from the older kids.

The word 'love' is not even close to expressing what Carson feels for his boots. He is obsessed with those things. They are hidden right now and that is enough about that.

Carson still can't drink out of a straw. He always pulls the straw out of the cup and plays with it. I got him a straw sippy cup type of thing. And he can drink out of that, but he tries to tip it.

I think the terrible twos have begun. Carson is crazy. He has been throwing tantrums all the time when he doesn't get his way. Which, sometimes, is not getting both a milk and a water cup when he wakes up. It is out of control this past week. I am going to say that some of it is because he doesn't feel good.

One of his favorite activities is still reading books. He loves them. He has branched out and really likes some others now. He lovese Green Eggs and Ham and says "I Sam" at the beginning and he loves Freight Train. He likes making the WoooWoooo noise that his Dad makes when they read that together. And it is helping him learn his colors.

I am sure there are many more things about the little guy but that is what I can think of right now. He is fun and cute and fearless... and very busy. We love you, Carson!

**On the 28th, Carson went to the doctor and weighed 30 lbs. even. No height check.

Poor little guy! I hope he's feeling better soon. Isn't almost 2 fun?! I love the pictures!

Don't worry about potty training - I got Dominic a potty last month b/c for 1 week he was obsessed w/ sitting on the potty & then he got over that obsession. So while I try a few times a day to get him to go he usually tells me no (even when I tried to bribe him w/ m&m's). I'll wait for preschool to help w/ it now. :o)

I'm glad he's doing better, and getting over his pneumonia. That's a scary thing. And I think he might have learned some of the jumping from Logan..... sorry. But seriously, it's so cute that they are "friends." And I love your pictures, especially the one of carson in his boots on the stairs and in the swing. Um I think I was thinking of sayinjg more, but I forgot, so Carson, you're just too cute!

Such cute pictures! I didn't know he had been so sick. I saw your hubby at church last week and figured you must have been home with sick kids... but man... that is bad! Poor guy. Bet you will all be glad when that is over... scary!
See you Saturday!

Watch out for those stairs Carson, especially in my favorite blue boots.
