I have been feeling like sewing lately. I don't know why, but probably because I see so many cute fabrics that I just want to make things with them. I just made Carson and Porter some matching ties. I am very proud of these. I made the pattern and just made Porter's a little bit shorter. They have adjustable necks, which I probably won't really use because once the neck changes I am sure the tie will be too short. Porter's neck part was way bigger than Carson's (since he doesn't really have a neck yet) and that cracks me up.
Travis had just come home from work, so I made him go outside with me to get some pictures. Porter hates grass... see face above.
I also made Carson a belt just with some ribbon. I have made these before for myself (with my mom who did most of it). I know they are easy, you just sew the loopy things on. And I saw the idea again on Make It and Love It (one of my favorite blogs!). I was proud of my work here mostly because I actually sewed pretty straight. YES! Travis asked why I made Carson a rainbow belt. It is easy to find girly ribbon... not so easy to find boy colors. This was the best I could do without it being a solid color. Orange, brown and blue are not rainbow!

I'd like to order one 'rainbow belt' to wear to Eastern. (Dad) You did a great job, Emily. I am so proud of you.
Awesome job Emily! I love the ties! Have you seen the shirts where you applique ties onto T's/onesies?
I've been trying to think of other projects to sew also - I'm afraid if I don't come up with new stuff I'll be putting appliques on the boys diapers! LOL. I am maybe going to get one of those quilt kits put it together, then have somebody else do the actual quilting of it. I also want to make some new throw pillows for the living room & found a cute way to make a duvet - but might be getting ahead of myself there.
P.S. Thanks for the tip about Make It and Love It! OMG! I'm trying to decide what to make now... gotta see what I already have since the boys are in bed. :o)
I think the belt is super cute. In fact, I might copy you, with both the ties and the belt! LOVE the top picture! Seriously, good job!
p.s. I'm feeling a pizza day this week, are you??
Cute ties! I need to get a sewing machine and start getting creative!
You are so talented! Will you teach me? I'll come to you! Seriously! dtcsdc@hotmail.com
Those ties are really cute, and the belt is not a rainbow -- my boys would think that it is the coolest! I am really impressed!
Brooklyn thinks her boyfriends look so cute in their stylin ties! We love it. Lets get together this week. Give me a call.
The ties are adorable!! I'm so impressed. I can't even sew a button on a shirt. :) The pictures you took are great! What kind of camera do you have?
Way to go, Emily! I am very impressed with your craftiness! Those ties are adorable :)
I'll just go ahead and order 5 ties for the boys and maybe a belt for eli and Luke. We both now how awesome I am at sewing (cue Mom's laughter) so I'll "let" you have the opportunity to make them for me. sweet:) They turned out so cute BTW!!!
Dad gets his tie first. Mom
Come on, you're killing me with craftiness. So darn adorable.
