Carson's Turns 2... in a week and a half!

*A lot of pictures for us to remember*

Saturday, we had Carson's birthday party. We picked a record day for heat. It was 102 degrees and very hot. It took about 2 minutes for both Carson's and Porter's cheeks to get bright red! We started at 4:30 and once the shade came, it cooled down, but then it was dark not too long after that.
We got together with family and friends. Travis grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and Carson was in heaven just being outside with plenty of kids around. We were the last ones to leave the park at about 7 and Carson refused to get in his carseat and threw a tantrum on the sidewalk. Good times.
For party favors, I made each kid a coloring book (by printing out pages with monkeys on them and sewing them together) and put some crayons and monkey stickers in a bag. The bag also had fruit snacks. I also made bean bags.

I made cupcakes. These are the chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Most of them were monkeys and some just had sprinkles. There were also multi-colored cupcakes with red or blue frosting and sprinkles. They were so messy because they all melted. Did I mention that it was 102? In mid-October?

As soon as we got home Carson started playing with his presents. And has been ever since... thank you!

I ordered Carson an individual monkey cake and figured if he wanted to eat it and demolish it, I would let him, since he hardly touched his 1st birthday cake. We sang to him and he stared at all of us. Then when we were done, he got up and ran around. Didn't even touch it. I just finally got rid of it today. He kept walking by and seeing it on the counter and saying "monkey" and then walking away... still never asked for any.

I started taking pictures and then Trisha helped me out and took a bunch too. She also took the video. Thanks so much, Trisha! Here are some of the pictures of everyone hanging out. And thank you to Tracy and Joey for holding Porter pretty much the whole time. He sure did love his Aunt and Uncle!
