For our 6th Anniversary getaway, this year we went to San Diego for the weekend. We took the kids, so it wasn't an actual anniversary date, but we got out of town and into cooler weather. We went to the beach all day Saturday, met Travis' sister, Tiffany and then ended up driving home in the middle of the night Saturday night. That turned out to be a brilliant idea. The kids slept all but the first 20 minutes or so. Travis drove the first half of the way home, and I drove the second half. At about 1 am, almost to Buckeye and I started getting a little sleepy. That was right when I found Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on one of my cds and I was belting out the tunes the rest of the way home, while everyone slept--lifesaver!

How many baths before the sand was finally gone? That is an impressive amount of sand! Too bad you couldn't go without the kids but it looks like your boys loved it!
P.S. Happy anniversary and you both haven't aged a bit- how is that possible?
We tried to get you 2 to go somewhere when we were there. We even mentioned it way before we came out. Looks like you had fun, tho.
I love San Diego. That was a great idea to drive home all night. If I could stay awake past 9 pm we might try it. But a little Joseph to power me through might be all I need.
