Carson is 5!

He is 5 years old.  I can't even believe it.  In this top picture he looks so old!  Carson had quite the birthday celebrations this year.  It started on Wednesday before his birthday.  He was asked to bring a treat to Miss Whitney's class.  I made some colorful cupcakes (pink, yellow and orange)  and green frosting for the grass. I made some truffula tree toppers and Carson put them carefully into each cupcake.  He was pretty excited.

Porter and Hudson thought they were pretty cool too.  So Porter wanted a picture in front of them.

Then on Saturday morning I thought we could celebrate Carson's birthday, since it was on Sunday this year. I wanted him to be able to decide if he wanted to get a balloon at the store, or go eat somewhere special (Free Grimaldi's).  So I woke up extra early and got Halloween Krispy Kremes.  And because I had already made cupcakes and was planning on more for his other preschool, I didn't want to make any more.  So we put candles in the donut and sang happy birthday.  Carson was so mad and wanted nothing to do with it.  Here he is trying to blow them out before we could sing the song.

But the donuts were tasty.
Carson refused to open his presents in the morning, saying it wasn't his birthday.  Then while we were all outside he came in and opened them without us.  I was mad.  I put them away and we opened them again Saturday afternoon.

Carson really loved all of his presents.  He is so excited to have an easel in his room! The boys all wanted to paint as soon as he opened it.  He also wanted to plant his truffula tree right then too.  For months, all he has been asking for for his birthday is a truffula tree.  I attempted to make one.  He likes it, but I can't get the stick to stay in.

On Monday I went to his other preschool class to take more cupcakes.  He has had 3 birthdays in this classroom, and this was the first time I took stuff.  Last year, I sent Hostess cupcakes in his bag. As soon as I walked in, he said "Mom, I told you not to come here."  Awesome, what a sweet boy.

Ms Jan was sick that day but I got a sweet picture of him and Ms Deb.
I also made him a new 5 shirt that he was pretty excited about.  I found a green one this time, his favorite color.
On Tuesday, after his birthday, his Uncle Ethan came by with donuts at breakfast time! Then on Wednesday, Bobi, his previous habilitator, came by with more presents!
His birthday was on Sunday and I didn't even get a picture of him that day.  We had our ward primary program.  He memorized his part and we bribed him with his Trunk or Treat candy from the night before to say it.  He kept saying he was going to fall down, so I am glad that didn't happen.
He said his line clearly and then struck a pose.  I also occasionally saw him singing the songs.  It was very cute.  Grandma Grover and Uncle Troy came to see him participate in the program.
His line this year in the primary program was, "Having good friends will help me choose the right."  Porter and Hudson had his part memorized too.
He also got another birthday present from Grandma Grover at church.  He was a spoiled little boy.  Thanks to Grandma Margie and Grandpa Norm and Grandma Grover, Uncle Ethan and Bobi for the special presents!

Happy Birthday Carson!  We love you so much!

I am worn out just reading about all the birthday events (which you had told me about on the phone). I still loved seeing the photos and reading about them. Happy Birthday Carson!!
