Emma Harley -- 3 Months

This is Emma a month ago.  She looks pretty much the same.  She has on that same onesie today and it is smaller.  Her neck is getting stronger and she has had some playtime in her bumbo.

She enjoyed Valentine's Day in her 'kisses' onesie that I made for her. She must have made lots of money that day because her cheeks are so darn kissable! ;) It is a good thing she has a felt bow for every occasion.  I love those little things!

Her serious face really cracks me up.

Emma and Daddy.

Most of her smiles include the tongue right now.

She works hard to get such shapely thighs. Believe me.

I always make Travis take our picture after he gets home from work.  Otherwise I would never have any pictures of me and Emma.  Not that I necessarily want to be in them, but I know it is important for my kids to have pictures with all of us.

She loves kisses on the cheek, can't you tell?

One day after church.

She spent some time in the bumbo which seemed fun for her to be upright and watching her brothers.  They thought it was pretty cool too. Porter is telling her "I love you" in sign language.

The grass doesn't seem to bother her.  It is really soft and not prickly at all.
I love this cute little dress. It was a Walmart find, and came with matching bloomers and a neon pink striped cardigan.  I was pretty impressed. I love the shape of it and the sleeves. And I like that the neck is just stretchy.  The little buttons on the back of little baby clothing are obnoxious.   And obviously I love the girl wearing it.

These are also Walmart jammies.  I couldn't resist the pinks and mint green and hearts.  It is all too much! I love how each group of pictures I can get about 30 different faces from her. Most of them showing her tongue!

The smirk is pretty awesome too.

And now she is 3 months!  She has this first look down.  She made the same look in the last "monthly" pictures.

Her hair is getting longer.  I think along with the measurements of length and weight for her, I should be adding hair growth.  It is so soft and tickles my ear when I am burping her on my shoulder. Ha, it always makes me laugh.  She is clueless and that makes me laugh more.

I love the shape of her little chin and cheeks, and you can really see it here.  It looks different when she is leaning back.  Cute either way, I must say.

Emma is getting into the full body smiles.  Her legs and arms straighten when she does it.

In the last month, Emma has started enjoying her baths.  When she gets out and is all wrapped up in a towel she has conversations with us, cooing.  Last night she told me lots of stories. She has to take them pretty often because her hair gets greasy and if she spits up at night, her hair gets crusty from the milk too.
Emma has started to enjoy sleeping at night a lot more.  She usually sleeps from about 830 until about 430 in the morning.  Then she eats and goes right back to sleep.  Most days I have to wake her up around 8 or 9 for preschool drop-off.  I can't remember the last time she woke up twice in the night.  So that has been very helpful in what I can get done during the day.  I am still exhausted but it is much more manageable with a little bit of predictability.  One day last week she slept from 9 all the way until 6.  It was just once, but it was very, very nice.
She has been letting us know when she wants to go to bed.  She used to stay up late, until 11 or 12 but now, she starts squealing at about 7 or 730.  When she squeals that means, put her to sleep now or you will regret it. She eats and then goes to bed around 8 or 830.  She also used to have to be asleep when we put her in bed.  Now she is keeping her pacifier in a lot more and going to bed on her own a lot more often.  She is also sleeping in her bed more during the day instead of the swing.  Occasionally, we will have to go stick the pacifier back in once.  Sometimes we will go check on her and she is wide awake at 10, and when she sees us she starts smiling with her whole body.  But she prefers to be left in there usually.  We have learned that the hard way.  She doesn't like being moved.  It is weird. She seems all happy, so you pick her up to talk to her and she frowns and then starts screaming. Like she is day dreaming in a trance and when you actually move her she wakes up and gets scared.  She also gets scared of loud startling noises.  I opened the shower curtain to give her a bath a few days ago and she jumped (laying in my arms jumping) and frowned really big and then started bawling.  It is so sad when she does it.
She is awake for longer during the day, but she still sleeps a lot.  She play more, and loves the bouncy seat with the light-up toys on top.  She laughs and coos at those things forever.  She also loves to read books.  Daddy reads to her a lot. She especially likes it when her brothers are around to hear the stories too.  Carson and Porter even read to her occasionally.
Like I tell Travis every day, "she is growing up so fast!"  Too fast, I might add. We love her!
Happy 3 months, Emma!
