Emma's Blessing

February 23, 2014
Emma was given a name and a blessing by her Dad.  She was one of three precious little babies to be blessed during Sacrament Meeting.  It was a very sweet blessing. Travis just keeps surprising us with a few more sentences each time!  I get teary-eyed no matter what, but especially this time when he talked about her being close to her mother.  I hope so.

I am going to frame this picture.  I love them so much!

Emma was blessed in my blessing dress.  These are the pictures that we have from that day in 1982 probably, since I was born right at the end of 1981.  I was so, so happy to have my dress for her to wear.  Thanks to my Mom for keeping it clean and put away all those years.  It was very special to me.  My mom's, mom's, friend made this dress for me to be blessed in.

This was our family that could make it to her blessing.  We are so grateful for them!  Grandma and Grandpa Grover, Uncle Troy, Aunt Trisha and her family (Brian, Logan, Jaxon, Sadie, and Haley) and Uncle Ethan and his family (Lisa, Allyson, Jackson and Julianne).  And of course, our family of 6.  We missed all of our family that could not make it, especially Emma's other set of grandparents.  But we felt them in spirit.

Travis and his parents.

Travis' side.

My side.

Why do we look so perplexed? Who knows!

Travis loves to pose!  Emma doesn't look so sure.

So pretty.

Her dress is longer, but it was just caught up under my arms.

Her hair is amazing.

Travis was trying to get her to smile, I told him to have Hudson come over.  Worked like a charm.  She adores him.

After the blessing everyone came to our house for lunch and we enjoyed some time together. While Emma slept.  It was a good day.

Allyson, Emma's cousin, made this for her during Sacrament Meeting on her blessing day!

Love, love the photos, Em. We wish we could have been there, but we had strong, tender feelings yesterday because we knew it was happening. We are so glad that Ethan and family were there. And especially grateful that Emma's Grover Grandparents (Carla and Larry) were there. And also Travis' siblings. Thanks you so much for the photos. We love you all and are especially grateful for Emma at this time.

So sweet, and I love that dress! The detail on the bodice is so cute. It looks brand new! Please post how to preserve whites!
