Hudson Lee

Hudson Lee Grover is here!  He was born Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 12:22 pm.  He is our biggest baby, weighing a whopping 7 lbs. 2 oz., 21 inches long.  He is cute and cuddly and happy.  Travis did a great job of taking a lot of pictures just moments after he was born. He actually got some pictures of the seconds that he came out, but I am not blogging those.  I had him via c-section and I got to see the whole thing.  It was really cool to see.  He made one little peep right when he came out.

Carson and Porter saw him for the first time yesterday and they were pretty interested in him.  They both gave him sweet kisses.  Carson calls him Baby Hudson and Porter calls him baby.

I think Hudson is excited to get to see them more and play with them!

The boys all remind me of each other, especially as newborns, but I really think he looks just like Porter did.  And I swear I see some freckles on him.  Is he going to be our redhead?  I can't wait to find out!

Baby Names

Ok, people.  I know my Mom is pretty much the only person that reads my blog.  But if you happen to stop by, we need baby name ideas.  Please!  I only have a couple more weeks and have absolutely no clue what to name this little guy.
My rules (for my own children--I don't mean to offend if you like to do any of the following):  I don't like "made-up" names, I don't like funky spellings, I don't really like the super traditional names, I like to put family names in there somewhere (middle names so far) but only our family really knows what those are, and I really don't want it to end the same way as the other two.  So no, "er" or "on/en/in".
Travis' rules: he pretty much wants it to be something totally weird like Thor or Trivits!  Ugh!  So only pay attention to my rules. Thanks!!

Our family:
Travis Lee
Emily Ann
Carson Anthony
Porter Travis
Baby Tribits (that won't be his name, but we have to think of something soon.  Carson is getting a little to comfortable saying this)

34 Weeks

I am 34 weeks (and 1 day) pregnant.  That means 5 weeks from yesterday is when we are planning for this baby to come.  Holy cow.  It feels so close--middle of summer, 110 degree-days, 3 little boys in diapers, 3 car seats in one small car, and a tiny 2 bedroom apartment!  Even though those things sound overwhelming, I really don't feel that way.  We are just so excited to meet this new little baby and bring him into our family.  All 3 of the boys are going to be so close in age and I hope they remain close brothers as they grow older.  I can't wait to see the relationships that they have.  We feel so blessed to be able to be pregnant and having another baby.
Travis affectionately calls this baby, "Trivits!"  Yeah, that is what he wants to name it.  So Carson always points to my belly and says "Baby Tribits."  I canNOT name a baby that.  We haven't even come close to deciding on a name, but I HAVE decided it won't be that!  HA!  That isn't even a name!
Baby Grover is an active little boy especially in the evenings.  Sometimes he sticks things (bottom, knee, foot hand... who knows) out so far, it is so funny looking!  It makes Travis feel sick just to see all that movement.
I still crave Sour Patch Kids every single day!  I have since about 10 weeks or so.  It is horrible!  My tongue needs that sour kick.  Sometimes a nice sour Granny Smith apple will work.  But mostly it will just tide me over until I get the candy!!  I even looked the other day at Sam's Club to see if they had them.  That would have been horrible.  It would have been like 52 lbs. of Sour Patch Kids... thank goodness they don't carry them.

Dear Baby

Dear Baby Boy-
You have been growing for about 28 weeks now (or 26, but pregnancy calculation is a little weird) and I have not written you yet.  I am so sorry.  Your two big brothers and your dad keep me very busy.  Don't worry, you will see.
When I found out I was pregnant with you, I was very happy.  I had to find out right then because I was also very sick that Friday and I needed to know what kind of medicine I could take.  I was happy and things were great for a couple of weeks.  Then I started to not feel so great.  I was still happy, of course, but sick.  We got through that, it started going away at about 15 weeks.  And just a couple of weeks later you started to let me know that you were in their playing.  I felt your first movements at about 18 weeks which was also when I found out that you are a boy!  How I found out is a different story for another time.  Ever since then you have been getting bigger (each day, I feel like) and you are constantly moving around.  You have managed to kick, or head-butt everyone in our family.  This morning you even kicked my bowl of cereal.  Apparently you weren't too fond of those Honey Nut Cheerios.
I have gone through a lot of cravings while being pregnant with you.  At the beginning, I always wanted chips and salsa (from a restaurant only) and egg croissant sandwiches.  And now I am always craving Sour Patch Kids.  Every single day, I want them.  I also want pizza every day, but I don't think that is different than when I am not pregnant.
When I ask Carson who is in our family he says, "Daddy, Mommy, Carson, Porter and Baby."  But he might still think that Porter is also the baby??  And then when I point to my belly and say there is a little baby brother in Mommy's belly, he then points to his belly and says, "Carson's belly."  So he is slightly confused.  Porter is clueless.  But I know that you are going to have so much fun with those two.  Porter might tackle you quite a bit because that is what Carson has always done to him and that is also what he does to us.  But he is always smiling while doing it and it is with love.  So don't worry, we will be watching out for you.
Your Grandma Garrett just sent you some new cute little onesies with cars and trucks on them.  They are just for you.  A lot of your clothes are going to be hand-me-downs from your brothers and your cousins.  But these are just for you from your Grandma.  And Carson is already jealous.  He asks to wear the truck shirt every day.  So I had to hide them.  You are so special and loved by everyone.
Your dad and I do not know what we are going to name you when you come into this world.  If you could throw me some hints as to what you might like that would be great!  We are so excited to meet you but if you could wait another 11 or 12 weeks we would appreciate it.
Baby, I love you so much.  I love feeling you move, even when it means I can't sleep.  I love it when your dad tries to discipline you, but you don't listen. Ha!  I love it when you poke out a little hand or foot, or something.  It is so teenie and precious and just sticks straight out.
We went to the park as a family today.  While we were there I thought about you.  I wonder if you will look like your big brothers?  Will you have bright blue eyes like them?  I wonder if you will have red hair and freckles like your daddy?  Or if you will have the capability to tan like me?  Will you love to eat or hate everything in sight?  Will you love to sleep, like the rest of us?  I wonder if you will let me cuddle you whenever I want to?  I sure hope so.  But no matter what, we all love you and are so excited for you to join our family.  I can't wait to meet you and we thank Heavenly Father every single day that you are headed to our family.

With Love,
Mom
