Christmastime

Santa Claus came to our Ward Christmas Party on Friday!  Carson gave him about 15 hugs, even when it wasn't his turn.  Thanks for the pictures, Cassie!  WE had a good time with friends and ate some good food.  I especially  loved the kids that sang songs.  We had to leave early because the kids were getting a little rowdy.

I took Porter and Hudson to the North Pole (Bass Pro Shop) to see Santa Claus today.  Travis took Carson last night.  We went with Brittany, Brooklyn and Makenzie.  Porter especially loved this train that was set up.

We rode the FREE carousel, but Brittany doesn't know how to use my camera!  Ha!

It was fun and the picture that we got of Porter and Hudson on Santa's lap is cute.  Did I mention that it was free too.  I love that place!

Porter and Hudson like to play together when Carson goes to school.

Our decorated and DEMOLISHED Christmas tree.  I haven't made my tree skirt yet, and it's not looking too promising at this point.  But the kids love to help decorate the tree by putting their toys in there.  I have found so many random things inside the branches of the tree!

Christmas

We had a great Christmas.  Hudson enjoyed opening his presents.

And playing with everyone else's toys.

Porter threw tantrums mostly because he didn't want to share.

He opened presents.

And showed excitement for his new trains.

Carson learned how to play with new toys.

And was our little drummer boy.

Travis made scrambled eggs with green peppers, onions, and bacon for breakfast.  We layed around the rest of the day and went to my brother, Ethan's house for dinner.  He smoked a turkey and it was delicious. Oh and Travis spent most of the day solving a rubix cube that we have had for like a year, so I hardly saw him... nice day to do that.  Oh well.  We had a very nice, very relaxing day.

I am so thankful for this time of year.  I love Christmas, even without the cold and snow.  I am thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ and his birth.  I am thankful for our friends and family and I hope you all had a merry Christmas!

Our Family Christmas... In Pictures

We had Christmas Eve Dinner over at Travis' parents house.

Porter was watching Carson play outside in the dark

The table was set nicely

After dinner we listened to the Christmas Story and sang Christmas songs.
Then we went home and Carson and Porter opened the Christmas Eve presents... pj's! They already had some Christmas pj's on that Grandma Garrett sent, but they loved the new ones that for some reason I didn't get pictures of??

Carson opening the present... good thing it was clothes

This is Porter's relationship with that tree... it was his nemesis for the week that it was up

Christmas morning, the presents under the tree.

This year we were very blessed. Santa really did come. Someone from our ward (we don't know who) brought all of these gifts for the kids! And then someone else, loaned us a tree. We were very grateful and humbled by this thoughtful act. Christmas was very special this year. We just spent a lot of time together... just us 4!

Carson starting the opening, Christmas morning

He would tear off a piece and then go throw it away. It took forever. But a Mom is proud when her son likes to be clean and have things in their place! Dad was slightly annoyed that it was taking him so long! Plus I made the boys open one present at a time and then play with it and then we would move onto the next. I wanted them to really see what they got... it took FOREVER!

Uh-oh... Porter found something to chew on

Something else to chew on and a serious case of bedhead

I LOVE this picture. This is Carson. He is intently seeing how this airplane works!

Playing some baseball.

Porter gets a chance to play with the toys, too

This tent from Grandma and Grandpa Garrett. The second it got set up, Carson's eyes lit up and he immediately went and grabbed everything he could find to take in there.

Finally a smile from Porter. He was happy all morning, but very serious about checking out the new toys. Have I mentioned that his smile looks JUST like his daddy's?

WE spent the rest of the morning together and then went over to Grandma and Grandpa Grover's where the kids had lots of new toys, from Grandparents and cousins, to play with.
Then we took turns babysitting kids and went to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie. It was good and a fun, tiring day.
We had such a wonderful Christmas. It was nice having Travis off of work for a little bit. I love this time of year. It is a wonderful time to really remember what the Season is about and think about the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, from Porter and Carson!
