It's Friday-day!

My friend, Ashley, used to always sing a song about it being Friday-day. I think she learned it in 3rd grade and I never knew the words, just the part that said, "It's Friday-day!" So that part of the song is in my head today! Usually on Friday's Travis is home and I get to go lay out at the pool, or run some errands by myself, last week I got my hair done, things like that. Today Travis is working so I have to entertain myself and Carson all day. But my brother, Ethan, is in town with his wife (no kids) and we are all going to go out to eat tonight. I am so excited, they haven't met Carson yet! So until then, I am filling my day up with blogging and facebook, of course, cleaning (I am even cleaning the things that go under the burners on the stove) laundry, making a menu for the next two weeks so I can go grocery shopping and trying to learn about my video camera. I got to use it a lot today because Carson ate some more rice cereal (he actually ate the whole bowl) and he also began rolling all over this morning. He is sleeping right now, that is why I have time to do these other things. He is still such an awesome napper!
I have a little thing on my computer that just flips through all of the pictures that I have and this one was on it. Even though that was only 5 months ago, I can't even believe that Carson was so small. Look at those skinny little legs!! I love how the 5-point harness on his little body is all at the same spot. And just today he really started rolling everywhere. I put him on his blanket to play on the floor, walk into the kitchen (which is literally like 4 steps) and turn around and he is completely off of his blanket still rolling. They say this is when it is all over and there is no going back. But I absolutely love it and he does too, you can tell by all of his smiles!! This is a picture of him trying to roll "through" the couch. His little hand was under the couch and I had to pry it loose and put him back in the middle of the living room to then go remove him from my flip-flops 2 minutes later. Which were on the opposite side of the living room!

So for a really long time I hardly drank any pop. Yes, I call it pop! I remember maybe having one every couple of weeks, especially while I was pregnant and early on when Carson was little -- I breastfeed, that is why I tried to stay away from the caffeine. Well, today I was wondering what to eat for lunch and I was thinking, "oh, man we don't have any food, what can I have for lunch?" I open the fridge and this is what I see.
It is like all of the sudden one day I decided I just can't take it anymore. I love pop way too much and why do I ever try to not drink it??? I still limit the caffeine, only for Carson's sake, but seriously, this is ridiculous. And Travis doesn't even drink it. So this is all mine. Notice the two cartons of eggs up above... yeah, one of those is expired and then next to all of the pop is an enormous bowl of salsa that I made. Those are the contents of our fridge. How sad. The more I look at this picture -- the more I want one!!

Amen! Everyone brags about how they don't even "like" to drink pop. Geez - I tried not to at the beginning of my pregnancy, but then with bad headaches, my doctor told me to drink some caffeine with Tylenol & it should help. It definitely has & I can say that I have my doctors approval! That picture of all the cans is making me want to go back for another - I just had one for lunch. :) Tell Ethan hi, he is my #1 Favorite Sunday School Teacher! (from when I was like 12...?)

Emily,
I found your blog off of Allie's. I think I am with you on the pop thing. When I was breast feeding it was regular pop. Now I am back to the Diet Coke. Which I dont drink as much as I used too. Tjel was surprised when he realized that I drank it for breakfast!

It sounds to me like you had a very productive Friday! More productive than me! And that picture of all the pop makes me thirsty. I am a Dr. Pepper addict, I'll admit it... AND I'm still breastfeeding. Maybe that's why Sadie isn't sleeping???? I love pop, too! (I call it pop and Troy makes fun of me!)
