A week in the life of the Grover's

I finally figured out how to upload videos to my computer. Now I am trying to figure out how to make them smaller so I can email them and post them on here. And now I also need to figure out how to reuse the disc in the camcorder. It takes me forever to figure this stuff out!

Well, this past week has been a pretty normal week in the life of the Grover's. Let's start with when I did my last post... last Saturday... We got to meet up with Ethan and Lisa, while they were in town looking for a house. Carson enjoyed hanging out with them and almost sat still in Ethan's lap long enough for this picture. In the afternoon, Carson and I went over to Nicole Berkey's place for a taste party while the guys went to the Priesthood Session. We tasted different things like chocolate chips, brownies and peanut butter(I didn't touch the peanut butter) and said which one was our favorite and then she told us what kind/brand it was. Does that make sense? Well, it was tons of fun. Quite a few girls ended up coming and almost everyone brought 1, 2 or 3 kids. Needless to say it was a bit crazy. After that Travis and I met at his parents house where we ordered take-out from Macaroni Grill and just hung out for a little while.
Travis and I hung out all day Sunday watching Conference (ok I admit I completely slept through the afternoon session). We did DVR it, so I have had the chance to watch some of it. I don't even remember what else we did on Sunday, so I am sure we just went to bed by 9.
On Monday I stayed home all day and got dinner and Family Home Evening ready. This week we talked about Repentance and Alma the Younger. It was fun, I showed a picture of Alma the Younger and the Sons of Mosiah to Carson and he just stared at it and kept quiet through the 5 minutes that my lesson lasted. I also have been slacking lately on making dinner so last Friday I got together a menu for two weeks (I even included lunches), I made a shopping list and I put the menu on the fridge. We have been pretty good at sticking to it this week.
I have memory issues. Which is why I am going to try to be better at this blogging thing -- it is my journal now. (I have talked to people who just print out their blogs and put them in a binder, that is what I am going o start doing.) I already don't really remember what happened this week. I am almost positive that I stayed home all day on Tuesday and on Wednesday I got some things together for Travis'birthday.

So on Thursday, it was Travis' 28th Birthday! He claims it was the best ever! We don't really have any money so I got Travis a few things, but nothing crazy. I just decided to spread the presents out throughout the day. So when Travis woke up there was a note from Carson and his first gift, a Nalgene water bottle.

I did help Carson make the card, he doesn't quite know how to use markers yet. We got this for Travis because he always uses mine and it is pink so he can't take it anywhere. His is blue! Then when Travis got in the car to go to school I had left a card that I had made him with a note of 28 reasons why I love him and a gift card to Oregano's, our favorite place to go eat! Then when he got home from school, which wasn't until about 6:15, he had some things to open on the counter. He was very excited! Travis never buys anything so I like buying him things. He got a new Cubs hat from my mom and dad (and a traffic ticket paid, see other story) and Carson and I picked out a shirt and flip flops for him. I also found a picture of Travis when he was a baby and put it in a frame with a picture of Carson and it says "Like Father Like Son." Thank you to Ben for photoshopping the pictures for me!! So I told Travis we could eat whatever he wanted for dinner (I was babysitting during the day, so I couldn't make anything) and he wanted Oregano's so we went there! It was so yummy!
Travis also got Suns tickets from his Dad! They are for next Wednesday, so he told his teacher that he wouldn't be able to make it to class and we are taking Carson to his first SUNS game. We are excited about that! Travis also got running shoes last week which were supposed to be for his birthday. He said it was a good birthday and it wasn't because he got "stuff" I think he was just in a good mood and it was a fun day just to be happy!

Oh yeah, and when we got home we realized that Carson only has one set
of pajamas that fit him but they were dirty. It was already like 8:30 so I didn't have time to wash them before bed. So we cut the feet off of some of his older/smaller ones. We felt so trashy doing this, but really we couldn't stop laughing.
Today is friday, well only for about another 45 minutes. I babysat from about 10 to 2 and then just ran some errands. Carson woke up last night at 3 (I am pretty sure that Travis woke him up by being loud when he got up to eat a bowl of cereal) and would not go back to sleep and just played for two hours. Then he did the same thing at 7:30. He usually goes right back to sleep but today he stayed up and played with Dad while I slept in! It was awesome... Thanks, Travis!! Carson was so happy all day, playing and running errands with Mom. He got a bath and played some more and finally went to bed at about 8:30. I actually felt like working out tonight (weird, I know) so I did that and then we ordered Rosati's to counteract the workout that I did. Travis watched the Suns lose and worked on homework while I tried to figure out my camera. All in all, a very good week. Pretty boring, but that is our life sometimes. Carson keeps things entertaining and fun and now that I am going to bed so late I am sure he will be up bright and early with plenty of smiles.
~~Oh and I put lots of pictures in the post because it does definitely make things more interesting... thanks for the motivation, Paige.~~

I love all your pictures! That sounds like a fun birthday & a great idea to spread the fun out through the whole day. :) What did you mean when you said, "We got this for Travis because he always uses mine and it is pink so he can't take it anywhere. His is blue!" I want to know what the present was - maybe I missed it. I was thinking ipod or something...? Anyway, that was a cute post. I love the father/son picture as well - too cute.

Ok - I read it again - a water bottle. Geez - I skipped over the whole FHE part! Anyway, I figured it out. :)

Oh & there is a place online that you can get your blog made into a book. Probably expensive & I usually just download mine into Word & will maybe print it off someday... if you want to look at the website, it is http://www.blurb.com & at the bottom there is a place for "Book Ideas" & blog books. I am sure there are more places but this is the one I have heard of. My blog is totally my journal as well, so I am thinking about doing one someday. Ok, I'll shut up now.
