In our next 3 years...

Travis and I just celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary on Tuesday, August 11th. It turned out to be a really great day and our date came at a much needed time for me. Travis put notes around the apartment that had clues on them. He made them up all on his own and they were pretty cute. He gave me a gift certificate to go get a pedicure. So it didn't even take me 3 minutes to get dressed and out the door to go get my nails done. I got a pedicure and a manicure and still have some left over for another trip! I didn't get him anything.

My friend, Brittany, came over and babysat for us. We went out to eat and ended up just walking around Fashion Square, holding hands and talking. Travis said we needed to get some new clothes for me (lack of any cute clothing that fits almost made me not go out) but I ended up making him try on jeans the whole time. We got the sausage, roasted peppers and fennel pizza at LA Grande Orange. It was so tasty. The crust was so thin, it melted in your mouth! Travis said he was still very hungry afterwards -- not surprising.


I had a really good time on our date. It was so nice to just relax and eat and talk and be together.

Sometimes, when I think about it, 3 years seems like such a long time (moving all around town, 2 kids) and sometimes it seems like so little. These past 3 years sure have been exciting, and definitely the best time of my life. I am so grateful to have a husband who loves me and I love him. I am thankful for the wonderful husband and father that he is. I am thankful that he helps out around the house and probably does more with the kids than I do. I am thankful for the time that we have had together so far. We get to know each other better each day. I am thankful for the funny things that he does (and the things that ONLY HE thinks are funny). And I am thankful for the imperfections that we both have that help us grow together. I am obviously thankful for the 2 perfect, funny, cute little babies that he has had a part in (and if you have seen them you know he has had the bigger part). I am thankful for the knowledge that I have that our family can be together forever. I don't know what I would do without that. I love you, Travis. Happy Anniversary.
