I have seen this list on a couple of other peoples blogs and they are fun to read. Mine is very boring, but I think everyone should make one of these lists. It is actually hard to think of 100 things about yourself. I started this list last summer and forgot about it. I may have said a couple of things twice, but I am not sure. It is still fun to do, please try it!
1.I was born in Glendale, AZ but grew up in Charleston, IL and moved back to Arizona after college.
2.My favorite food is pizza and I could easily eat it every single day for lunch and dinner, probably for the rest of my life and not be sick of it... seriously!
3.My hair is naturally a lightish brown color (ick) and naturally curly (ickier).
4.I love being a mom!
5.I love milk--skim of course--and I about want to vomit when Travis drinks whole milk.
6.I am competitive, but only with some things. Any kind of trivia game, word game, jeopardy or anything that is timed like Boggle I want to win. But other times, like when I went to play soccer and we were tied and everyone was totally bummed and honestly I didn't really give a crap. Which is really weird for me because I have always been really into sports, since I was little, and now those are the things I just do for fun! I guess I always get more competitive if it is anything that is GIRLS vs boys.
7.I am very indecisive. I can't really say I have a "favorite" anything, I have a "top 4 or 5" for everything.
8.I love sports and am a huge tomboy. I can't tie bows, put on makeup, curl my hair or do anything girly really.
9.I am the youngest of 5 kids, so I don't think I learned to talk until I was like 5.
10.I like reading, but it has to be an easy, light read and I prefer the cheesy romantic novels, not the smutty ones. i.e.Nicholas Sparks, Twilight Series
11.I got married exactly 1 year and 1 day after I moved here... in August... in AZ... it was 105... what were we thinking!
12.The one thing that single handedly ruins my life is condensation. I absolutely HATE it. I hate how cups leave rings everywhere and I hate it when I have things like papers, that stick to it. I hate it when Travis' cup has condensation and he picks it up to take a drink and puts it back down on the counter... in a different spot... making another ring!! I spend more time of my day wiping off the rings on the counter and wiping off my cup. It is definitely OCD with that.
13.I take #12 back, there are two things that ruin my life... I HATE, HATE, HATE cockroaches. I am scared to death of them, they are dirty and gross and when I see one I can't kill it(because I don't even want to get close to it) and I start sweating. When I see one on tv (even if it is a cartoon one) I hurry and change the channel or press mute and turn away. Like that Terminix commercial where it says that cockroaches are going to be the only thing to survive when the world ends. How creepy!
14. I am sweating just from typing #13.
15.I love donuts. I know they are horrible for you but I also know that there is no way, ever, that I could take them out of my diet. I plan on eating them for the rest of my life and that is all there is to it.
16.I love to bake, and I enjoy cooking. I just have to follow a recipe. I can't just taste it and realize it needs more salt. So I need more recipes.
17.I am a planner. Yes I still procrastinate, but I like having plans. It makes me much more comfortable. Travis is not, at all, and this is one thing that is really hard for me.
18.I like making lists (specifically "TO DO" lists). I know many women and moms that are this way. While I am not as extreme as my sister (you would have to see her lists to understand) I still make them for a lot of things. It is actually the feeling of crossing something off that I enjoy, plus it just helps me remember things.
19.My favorite dessert is brownies. Just plain old fudgelike (family size but made in an 8x8 pan) brownies with a glass of skim milk!
20.I love cheesy romantic movies/comedies. Usually the sillier and more unrealistic, the better. I can watch them over and over and every single time one of them is on tv I feel the need to record it, even though I own most of them. Some classics: Sweet Home Alabama, While You Were Sleeping, Sleeples In Seattle, My Best Friends Wedding, When A Man Loves A Woman, Pretty Woman, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, Hitch, The Perfect Man, Both Bridget Jones' Diary movies, Love Actually.
21. I don't watch rated R movies... anymore (obviously the above list has a few in there). I quit watching them because my wonderful husband was a good influence on me. We went to one while we were dating (he never would have gone but was just trying to hang out with me) and it was horrible and we walked out about 20 minutes into it. It made us both feel so crappy and after that I quit watching them. So it has been about 3 years now. It is hard when you have already seen it and liked it. So I do still watch them when they are on tv and edited and hopefully I can stop that eventually too! I did give away any of the ones that I owned. Seriously though... why does The Shawshank Redemption have to be rated R!
22. I can say the 50 states in alphabetical order in 20 seconds (thanks to the song "Fifty Nifty" that I learned in 3rd grade) and I can also sing all of the states and there capitals (thanks to the Animaniacs Sing-A-Long). That really comes in handy a lot during Final Jeopardy.
23.Math was always one of my better subjects and now to do simple addition I have to use my fingers. That just shows how practicing anything makes it easier and you better.
24.I hate football and I hate football season because Travis watches it all day.
25.I love to watch baseball. I am always up for going to a game.
26.I like to make labels for things. I like to print them on my computer and use different fonts. I just made a bunch for Carson's books (This book belongs to: Carson Grover -- I used the DJ Crayon Font). We never take his books out of our apartment I just did it because the fonts are cute and it makes me feel organized. And that is another check for my "to do" list!
27.I love Monsoon Season! I love the smell of rain, right before it rains. I love having a huge thunderstorm in a place where it is almost always hot and sunny! I love to curl up on the couch and look out the window and watch it.
28.I am scared to death of having girls.
29.I like TV. When I have absolutely nothing else to do I used to watch the Food Network. We cancelled it only because we are cheap and I am fine with it. But I always have liked to watch it to relax.
30.I have glasses but I never wear them.
31.I love how different peoples houses always have "their smells". And it is always the same every time you enter the door and it is always different for every single family.
32.I love to wear black... Travis hates it!
33.I am not imaginative or creative at all! Whenever I see something cute I recognize it and want to do it, but I never come up with any idea on my own.
34.I don't like the sound of styrofoam or cardboard scraping or rubbing on other styrofoam or cardboard. It is just like fingernails on a chalkboard. Or when you go to get the mail and your fingernail scrapes the mailbox.
35.I am not a huge fan of nicknames. I call people by their first name and that is usually it! I do call Carson "buddy" but I feel like I will probably call every kid that I have that. And sometimes I call Travis "babe" or something, but not on a regular basis.
36.I am cheap. I am not frugal by any means. But I am cheap.
37.I like to digital scrapbook. Again, I am not creative, but I still enjoy doing it.
38.My favorite sleeping position is on my tummy with one leg pulled up to my chin... no preference on which leg, I switch back and forth often.
39.I am sick of how every day I read about something new that they "just discovered" is harmful for us. Like pretty much all plastic and cell phones. I used to use my cell phone as an alarm clock and it was actually on my bed by my pillow (on vibrate, so it wouldn't wake anyone else up) and then I saw on the news about how it is bad for you and you don't get as good of sleep with it. I don’t have a cell phone anymore but the point is that I am still sick of how we are using all of these things, not thinking anything of it, then someone does a study and figures out how bad all of these things are.
40.I played volleyball, soccer, and basketball all through high school.
41.I tore my ACL playing soccer my junior year of high school.
42.I never have a clean car. I clean it out (vacuum and armorall) and then literally the next week it is dusty, dirty and full of random papers and wrappers. Then I don't do the extensive cleaning again for 6 more months or so. Actually, the last time I did that was right before we had Carson. So about 16 months ago.
43.I get mad when things aren't where I like them. When we team up and do the dishes, Travis washes and I dry and put away, so I know they go "where they belong." I also keep track of all of Travis' stuff because he comes home and puts it on the counter and I can't stand it. So 3 or 4 times a day he asks me where something is. I usually know exactly. Of course, that is not that hard when you have two bedrooms, two closets and only a couple hundred square feet. All the more reason to be organized, I think.
44.I like to take pictures. I really like to look at pictures from people who actually know how to take pictures.
45.I want to someday get a really nice camera.
46.After that I want to take some photography classes.
47.I could also use some help with photoshop.
48.I still remember my very first phone number, when I was a kid. 978.9204
49.I like to say movie lines from favorite movies. Then when we are watching them, it's hard to not say them as the movie goes along. I do try very hard though, because I know that is annoying.
50.I love The Food Network.
51.I don’t have cable but I still flip through the 5 channels that we get. When there is nothing on I go through them about 20 times before finally turning the tv off!
52. I love grilled food… steaks, chicken, kabobs, shrimp, hot dogs… anything!
53.I hate having hair that touches my shoulders but it gets like that often because I only get haircuts about every 6 months! And actually, right now I am at the beginning of a growing it out phase.
54.I like to think of costumes for Halloween and then I hardly ever use my ideas and dress up… I am so boring!
55.I am a piler. I pile things. When I get the mail, I go through it all every day yet I still put stuff in piles… bills, Travis' stuff, grocery ads, misc. I don’t why I can’t just put them away. I have to wait until I get a good pile going and then go through it all and put it away. It doesn’t help that my filing system right now is annoying(They are stacked instead of horizontal). So I never want to go open up a folder because it is too hard to get just one out.
56. I love the show Friends and still watch reruns every day.
57.I love hearing Carson laugh. Like right now he is laughing at the pictures on the box of diapers.
58.I like to hear Carson laugh when it is because Travis is playing with him.
59.I don’t like to make the bed.
60. I like having the bed made.
61. I don’t really ever take medicine. Just my prenatals. I complain when I have a headache but I hardly ever take Tylenol or anything. It is the same with allergies and colds and stuff.
62.I get bored when Travis isn’t home.
63.I love to sing.
64.I am horrible at singing.
65.I know I am horrible at singing so I don’t feel like it is as bad as thinking I am awesome and being crappy!
66.I love to have a good pair of jeans. It makes me feel good if I have that one good pair that I feel good in! Obviously, more than one pair would be awesome but ONE is pretty much all that I can convince Travis to let me get at a time.
67. My favorite animal is the cow. In high school and college, I was obsessed.
68. I really wanted just one real cow. I wanted to milk it, and take it on walks and lay around in the grass and just hang out with it. My cow would have been so cute. I was going to name him 'Skipper'.
69. I love daisies. They are my favorite flower… real or fake!
70.I like to put the leftover frosting from cake (I can never use the whole tub for one cake) in between two graham crackers. I remember getting that as a kid and have always loved it.
71.I like having short fingernails but they get long often because I hate trimming or filing them.
72. I love the feeling of getting into bed and having the sheets be all crisp and chilly. It just makes me want to cuddle.
73. I love to cuddle. Travis says I don’t, but I do.
74. I don’t even remember how many cavities I have had and how many fillings I now have. I do know that I have one chipped tooth because I decided to make an impulse purchase at Best Buy one day. The first bite of the movie sized box of Sprees took off half of my tooth! The exact same thing happened in the same place on the other side of my mouth because of an Ice Breaker candy mint that I got in my stocking for Christmas a couple of years ago. That tooth has a crown now.
75. I do brush my teeth usually 3 or 4 times a day. I am really bad at flossing.
76. I love candy and pop.
77. This is pretty much the reason for #74.
78. I love ice. I put it in everything but milk. Any juice, pop, or water I add ice too. Even if it is already really cold. I just like how it feels with ice in it.
79. I do the Yahoo Crossword every day, usually Travis and I race.
80. I watch all of my tv shows online.
81. I haven’t sent a text message in a couple of years.
82. I want to name our baby Porter, but Travis wants to name him Thor. How do you meet in the middle?
83. I am counting on the Cubs to win the World Series this year.
84. I don’t see my family often enough. I miss them.
85. I don’t like it when people call me skinny (when I am not pregnant) and when people tell me over and over how small I am (when I am pregnant). It makes me really mad.
86. I feel really old.
87. I like to go out to eat. Some because the food is good. Some because you get waited on and don’t have to do the dishes.
88. We hardly ever go out to eat anymore. When we were dating that is pretty much all we did.
89. I have a love/hate relationship with Wal-Mart. I hate it; they are always out of something on my list, the lines are always long, and when I go there I spend way too much money. But I love it; it is just so much cheaper than the other stores, you can ad-match and return pretty much anything.
90. I like to get Carson’s clothes at Old Navy. I feel like they fit him the best.
91. I like to get Travis’ clothes at Old Navy. He looks cute in anything I pick out for him.
92. I used to want to be an astronaut. Now the thought of going into space really creeps me out!
93. I want to go to Peru with Travis so we can see all of the sights from his mission.
94. I want to be tan again. I am the pastiest I have EVER been in my entire life.
95. I am not okay with being pasty.
96. I am not okay with going to the tanning bed anymore. I can actually feel myself getting skin cancer in there.
97. I want to someday have a house that is just ours. We are the first to live in it, we make it how we want it (the list is huge for the kitchen, already), our kids grow up in it, and it stays clean.
98. I love Pixar movies.
99. I love Tropical Punch Kool-Aid. As far as I am concerned it is THE only kind of Kool-Aid. I make it a special way and my friend, Ashley, always calls it Diabetes Juice.
100. I usually don’t take my make-up off until the next morning. I don’t know why, I am too lazy at night. But when I wake up I look pretty scary, so that is when I do it.
I hadn't had a new purse in years. The one I had been using was one that Ashley had also given me and that was back when I lived in Illinois, so probably like 5 years ago. And it was falling apart. And then my parents got me a new diaper bag... of my choice! After searching and debating and searching and debating, I finally picked one out and it came in the mail on Saturday!! And it is even cuter in person than it was online!
So now I have two new bags and I love them both. They are both big and fit so many things in them. I like to be prepared and always have a bunch of crap with me. My old diaper bag was usually jammed with stuff and that was with one kid! This one is much bigger and way cuter!.JPG)
