Balloons

Hudson was playing with all the balloons last night after Carson and Porter went to bed.  They all went up to our vaulted ceiling and we used that yellow ball to get them down.  He saw us and thought it would be fun.  I think he is pretty coordinated.

Hudson being Hudson

Hudson was saying "MMMMM" after every bite last night.

He has started playing with his reflection in the oven.  He is very Risky Business in this video.  He had a blowout during church.  Awesome.

If You're Happy

The only way we can get Hudson to hold still during a diaper change is singing him a song.  I like this one because it keeps his hands occupied too.
I can't help it if he is darn cute.  He also is pretty obsessed with wearing Carson's birthday crown.
I am sorry that I am the one that has to be heard singing.

Learning New Tricks

Hudson is officially walking (picked it up during the 14th month).  He seems to have mastered it and is now kicking the soccer ball (YES!) and doing many other things while he walks.  This video is short because it is from my cell phone and it has to be under 10 seconds to send via text--and I send most of them to my mom that way.  Is he going to love soccer like his Mommy?  My mom says I was doing this at 8 months.  Which is kind of freaky--you would think I would be awesome.

He has also started to say so many words.  Friday morning he kept saying these 3 words together, over and over.  When it finally clicked for me, I sang the song back to him and he seemed satisfied, like I knew what he was saying so he could stop saying it.

He uses his words appropriately, so although they might not sound exactly like it you know what it is.  i.e. He will go get his shoes, show them to you and say "shoe"  or when we turn the corner in the car he will say "whoa."
His words right now:
Mommy
Daddy
"Puh-Puh" (Porter)
"Ca-kee" (Carson)
Bobi
ball
baseball
yogurt
cheese
cracker
water
doctor
car
shoe
"Whyee" (Super Why, the doll)
Baby (Shane, another doll)
Harry (another doll/stuffed animal)
twinkle, twinkle, star
uh-oh
whoa

He is so dang cute, I can hardly handle it!

Carson Reading (reciting from memory)

These videos are mostly for Grandma and Grandpa Garrett who don't get to see Carson very often.

Here are some videos of Carson reading his books... in his own little way, but he gets some of the words right. He loves to read and always has. Now he wants us to read whatever book and then he will go through it himself (about 20 times) and read it. The first one is Goodnight Moon. This has been a favorite from day 1! And it cracks me up because practically every page looks the same but he still knows which pages are which. He also says this one to himself in bed before he falls asleep at night (on the nights he isn't jumping in Porter's bed, of course, or singing I Am A Child of God or Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam). In case you don't read it everyday the words are below.

Goodnight Moon
In the great green room there was a telephone and a red balloon and a picture of
The cow jumping over the moon and there were three little bears sitting on chairs
And two little kittens and a pair of mittens
And a little toyhouse and a young mouse
And a comb and a brush and a bowl full of mush and a quiet old lady who was whispering hush
Goodnight room, goodnight moon, goodnight cow jumping over the moon, goodnight light and the red balloon, goodnight bears, goodnight chairs, goodnight kittens and goodnight mittens, goodnight little house and goodnight mouse, goodnight comb and goodnight brush, goodnight nobody, goodnight mush, and goodnight to the old lady whispering hush, goodnight stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere.
The End
Goodnight Moon and Goodnight Carson and Goodnight Porter

This one is How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You. He got this book for Christmas from his cousin Mitch and he and Porter absolutely LOVE it! He reads this one exactly the same way that I read it to him, it's great.

How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You

You woke in the morning in such a bad mood... then sat at the table and fussed with your food.
But then you blew kisses and waved from the door. I love you, I love you, my dinosaur.
Out in the sandbox you threw lots of sand. You ran from the slide after slapping my hand.
But you suddenly turned with a smile I adore. Oh, I'll always love you, my dinosaur.
You moped through your nap time and slept not a wink.
You flooded the house when you played in the sink.
But you got out the mop and then cleaned up the floor! I love you so much, little dinosaur.
Off in the car, you kept kicking my seat... and when we got out, you were dragging your feet.
But you held my hand tight when we walked in the store. I'll love you forever, my dinosaur.
Dinner disaster! You made such a mess! Would you stay up past bedtime? The answer was YES!
But when you smile sweetly and hold back your roar, when you kiss me and hug me once, twice, even more...(skipped this page)
...that's when you give love, and I know this is true, because that's how a dinosaur says I Love You!

Laughs

Travis can really make Porter giggle. He also gets way more smiles than I do. I guess I am just the milk factory and Dad is the fun one.

Rolling Over

We have been trying to give Porter more tummy time because his head is a little bit flat on one side. It isn't bad, you can just tell that he favors that side to sleep. Well he doesn't stay very long because he has started rolling over from his tummy to his back. It is cute. He kind of starts rocking and then goes. I love it. The other day when he did it I cheered and yelled hooray and Carson thought it was hilarious!

What A Fun Little Boy

If we are at home (Carson's favorite place besides outside) this is pretty much what Carson does all day... especially when he is with his dad. We took this video tonight because Carson just kept laughing at me walking into the room. So I turned it into a game and it went on for about 10 minutes. This is just 30 seconds of his cuteness. Why are little kids so stinking cute when they are laughing like this??

Carson is Walking!

Well after a couple of weeks of just wanting us to help him walk all around our apartment (inside and out) and doing laps at church, Carson officially took off on his own yesterday! I think he finally got sick of holding his hand up for me to "walk" him around. After he did it once and took about 10 steps, he kept doing it all evening. He can already go one way, turn around and go back (I guess you just learn that part quickly when you don't have any space in a teenie apartment)! He is just so cute and Travis finally got to see him do it this morning. I am trying to get a video but everytime I turn it on it beeps and he stops whatever he is doing to look at the camera. Travis laid on the floor and Carson walked in circles around him. He is loving it! I can't believe how good he is doing in just one day. I just love this kid... he cracks me up so much!
